It's all about Mugs

Cappuccino tastes best when served in a pucker coffee cup, don't you agree? I can bet my bottom dollar - not that I have one;) - nevertheless, if there was a coffee taste test, the tasters would give identical coffee vastly different reviews!
We all have our favourite coffee mugs, right? I do and will give up almost anything for my family and friends, but not my coffee mug! The family gets a dirty look, and they quickly put it down. In the same token, it takes all my strength not to grab it out of a visiting friend's hand, so I 'sweetly' say:

Sorry, my friend, but that's my mug.

Do you also agree that coffee just ain't the same when the wrong mug is used? Wrong/right, who's to say? I like a heavy mug, preferably with an inscription. In the same breath, don't expect me to enjoy a cup of tea from the same heavy coffee mug!
I think you get the picture by now. I am very possessive over my coffee mug! I will settle for the one on the right-hand side, but I am not happy at all if both are taken.

I recently met up with two old school friends at one of my favourite places in the Valley of a 1000 Hills, The Stonehouse in Botha's Hill - a coffee shop, restaurant, lifestyle centre, and nursery all-in-one.
There were coffee mugs galore, but before I show you, I'd like to share a piece of cake and a cappuccino or simply a frothy coffee.
Stonehouse serves Lineage Coffee, a local brand from Hillcrest, a little down the road - strong and perfectly roasted coffee that has won a couple of coffee awards!
Coffee tastes even better when paired with a delicious slice of cake in the company of friends, don't you agree? A delicious Carrot cake, a decadent Lemon Meringue Pie, and a featherlight Red Velvet Cake.

After coffee, we wandered around their little lifestyle centre, admiring the coffee cups adorned with 'food-for-thought'. A couple of favourites -

Bloom Where You are Planted
Make Today count
Keep Growing
Life Happens, Drink Coffee

I hope you enjoyed the virtual coffee and cake and decided which coffee mug you would pick! Please also let me know if you enjoy a strong dark roast or something a little less strong, and what do you enjoy having with your coffee? I have such a sweet tooth, so it may not be what I've shared here with you today!

Lastly, are you as possessive over your coffee mug as I am?

Oh, I am also "possessive" when it comes to my coffee mug. 😂 I mean, I would be, but no one ever takes it, so can be calm ;))

From all that cool collection of mugs... with quotes and motivational phrases... haha

I would choose the Bloom Where You Are Planted, Amazing Grace and You Are Loved

Hi @mipiano, I have to start collecting more 'wise' coffee mugs, my favourites are Bloom Where You Are Planted, and Life Happens, Drink Coffee. The other two you chose are very special! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday <3

Hey Lizelle!

Happy Sunday!

Do you also agree that coffee just ain't the same when the wrong mug is used?

Yes! I agree wholehearted

The family gets a dirty look, and they quickly put it down. In the same token, it takes all my strength not to grab it out of a visiting friend's hand, so I 'sweetly' say:

Sorry, my friend, but that's my mug.

I can relate to that for sure. It's acceptable in my book for everyone to do so in their own homes.

What a lovely collection of mugs, and yes, inscriptions add a whole new level of excitement to coffee moments.

Carrot cake is one of my favourite cakes, and that slice looks divine 😋

Hi, @millycf1976, I'm sure all of us coffee lovers are on the same page when it comes to our favourite coffee mug😀
Their carrot cake is divine. I wanted to taste the red velvet cake this time, but carrot cake still is the best!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday as well <3

Beautiful collection.
I have mine, but, in reality there are only three cups: the one at home, the one at work and the one I use when I travel.
I don't like to drink coffee in other cups, although sometimes I have to.

This coffee you show us looks delicious and the cake and excellent companion. Happy Sunday and a better week. Cheers and greetings.

How right you are! Coffee usually has an immediate connection to the cup we choose to drink it from; I think that's part of what makes us feel pleasant when we drink it. I have a whole mug collection and I only use them myself, even if my family gets mad too XD.

Hi, @lizelle, I would choose the butterfly mug and the lemon pie. I am possessive with my mugs hahaha... I understand you. 😄

And why is lemon meringue pie decadent? I find it very inspiring hahaha and it has made me salivate just thinking about its taste.

Wow! So many mugs 😮 I'll choose this mug "A day without laughter is a day wasted", I remember, I commented on this mug in one of your posts. I like the saying 😃 Latte is my favorite drink, the comforting blend of espresso and creamy milk 😍
