It's been a long time since I read such an enjoyable travel post to a very interesting place! I never knew Romania have a lot of bears.
€40 return for a 15min ride does sound very expensive, but then if the alternative is hike and potentially meeting bears, it probably is the better option, as long as the authorities keep the cable car well maintained because it sounds a long way up to the mountains. How high is it anyway?
I've seen photos of you and your sister before, and I was always able to recognise you, but in these you two look so alike 😀

The ride itself takes you about 1,200 meters high, but the actual altitude of the plateau is around 2,200 meters. I love how the air feels up there! So fresh, and so clean!
