WorldMappin - La usina del arte and a very Argentinean exhibition [ENG-ESP] La usina del arte y una expo bien Argentina

Good morning, friends of WorldMappin, I hope you are feeling great today, and showing the sites you visit. It is my case today, happy to bring you an art exhibition as argentine as it exists. In its 13th year, the association of fileteadores mounted its call at the usina del arte, which is a huge and beautiful building near the neighborhood of la boca, in the federal capital, Buenos Aires. I went there.

Buen día, amigos de WorldMappin,espero que se encuentren genial hoy, y mostrando los sitios que visitan. Es mi caso del día de hoy, feliz de traerles una exposición de arte lo más argentina que existe. En su año número 13, la asociación de fileteadores montó su convocatoria en la usina del arte, que es un edificio enorme y hermoso cerca del barrio de la boca, en la capital federal, Buenos Aires. Allí fui.

Although the exhibition is temporary, many more artists are participating than in the past. This art, so characteristic of ours, is becoming popular again and I love it. I was specially invited by my friend, who was also the winner of a contest organized by the city. I will tell you more about it in the next post.

Si bien la exposición es temporal, están participando muchos más artistas que en el pasado. Se está volviendo a popularizar este arte tan característico nuestro y eso me encanta. Además fui especialmente invitada por mi amiga, que además resultó ganadora de un concurso que hizo la ciudad. Ya les iré contando avanzando el post.

At the entrance I was greeted by a bus painted by one of the established artists, as well as an unfinished car, but very advanced in techniques, and some distinctive decorations. A luminous sign shows us the 10 winners, you can surely check it on the web or instagram of the city, since it was on Saturday that they made the inauguration and officially presented these buses. It is about those that provide tours of the city, designed for tourists, now will ride on buses carrying paintings filleted by different Argentines, among them, my friend.

Me recibe en la entrada un bus pintado por uno de los artistas consagrados, además un coche sin terminar, pero muy avanzado en técnicas, y algunas decoraciones distintivas. Un cartel luminoso nos muestra a los 10 ganadores, eso seguramente lo puedas chequear en la web o instagram de la ciudad, ya que fue el día sábado que hicieron la inauguración y presentaron oficialmente estos buses. Se trata de aquellos que brindan tours por la ciudad, pensado para turistas, ahora pasearan sobre buses que llevan pinturas fileteadas de distintos argentinos, entre ellos, mi amiga.

I am very happy about the art that is being promoted with this initiative and just seeing my friend's signature on one of the buses makes me very excited. She is very happy, we walk through the exhibition and she tells me some details. They also gave her the space to give a workshop and I ventured to paint again with her as a teacher. The place couldn't be better for this kind of initiative, and I haven't been here for many years.

Me da mucha felicidad el arte que se promueve con esta iniciativa y de sólo ver la firma de mi amiga en uno de los buses me emociona. Ella está súper feliz, caminamos por la muestra y me cuenta algunos detalles. Además le brindaron el espacio para dar un taller y me aventure a pintar nuevamente con ella como maestra. El lugar no podría ser mejor para este tipo de iniciativa, y hace muchos años no venía por aquí.

As I walk through the exhibition and the different rooms, someone is doing artistic painting of the faces of the little ones, I think it is very interesting how they have adapted this art to each place where they are and with each new custom that appears. I like to see tango songs painted, as well as rock songs and typical phrases. I find myself laughing when I see a little man paddling in dulce de leche, and when I see the soda siphons that so many years ago were classics in my childhood.

Mientras voy recorriendo la muestra y las distintas salas, alguien está haciendo pintura artística fileteada en los rostros de los más pequeños, creo que es muy interesante cómo han adaptado este arte a cada lugar donde se encuentran y con cada costumbre nueva que aparezca. Me gusta ver canciones de tango pintadas, como también canciones de rock y frases típicas. Me encuentro riendo cuando veo un hombrecito remar en dulce de leche, y cuando veo los sifones de soda que hace tantos años eran clásicos en mi infancia.

If there is something that porteño fileteado preserves, it is the Argentinean customs and longings. A certain way of being thankful, of being melancholic, of mixing the best of life from its simplicity. There is so much to say and so few words I find, I always intertwine the emotional with the classic, and it fills my emotions with brilliance. It is impossible for me not to imagine the first filleters in the city, working until late hours a bus to make the next day's journey. Some things will change and others I hope not. As for example, in the year '75 the fileteado was banned with a very poor excuse, but although I'm sure you didn't know this, that prohibition law was repealed in 2006.

Si algo conserva el fileteado porteño son las costumbres y las añoranzas argentinas. Cierta manera de agradecer, de ser melancólicos, de mezclar lo mejor de la vida desde su simpleza. Hay tanto para decir y tan pocas palabras encuentro, siempre se me entrecruza lo emocional con lo clásico, y me llena de brillitos las emociones. Es imposible para mí no trasladarse a imaginar los primeros fileteadores en la ciudad, trabajando hasta altas horas un colectivo para que al día siguiente hiciera su recorrido. Algunas cosas cambiarán y otras espero que no. Como por ejemplo, en el año ‘75 el fileteado fue prohibido con una excusa muy pobre, pero aunque seguro no sabías esto, fue derogada esa ley de prohibición en el año 2006.

Back to my walk of the day, this exhibition will be open until October 13 and I invite you to go and see it if you are in Buenos Aires. The theme this time was “Argentine Customs” so you will see many things like posters alluding to mates, asado, family and other customs. I liked very much in the stable work that they had certain distinctions. For example, objects like that water pump, a classic telephone of yesteryear, a yerbera, or the penguins for wine in one place. Then the ones alluding to soccer on the other side, at the end of the corridor, the ones alluding to our musicians, and so everything well separated and sheltered among similar works.

Volviendo a mi paseo del día, esta muestra estará vigente hasta el 13 de octubre y te invito a que si estás en Buenos Aires puedas ir a verla. La temática en esta oportunidad fue “Costumbres Argentinas” por lo que verás muchas cosas como carteles alusivos a los mates, el asado, la familia y otras costumbres. Me gustó mucho en la obra estable que tuvieran ciertas distinciones. Por ejemplo, objetos como esa bomba de agua, un teléfono clásico de antaño, una yerbera, o los pingüinos para el vino por un sitio. Luego los alusivos al fútbol por otro lado, al final del pasillo, los que aluden a nuestros músicos, y así todo bien separado y cobijado entre obras similares.

At the end of the day, there was an exclusive award ceremony among the filletadores, and then there was a musical show carried out by this duo of singer and bandoneon, I leave you the instagram of the association where you can see other activities carried out, and perhaps if you are interested, some activity in the future.

I think that all of us who were there felt this pride for the national and the space they give to our art and our artists. I hope that soon the 10 buses will be going around the city, and that next year the exhibition will be held in another place, because I like to travel and visit different museums to meet with the porteño steak.

Creo que todos los que allí estábamos sentimos este orgullo por lo nacional y el espacio que le brindan a nuestro arte y nuestros artistas. Espero que pronto los 10 buses estén dando vueltas por la ciudad, y que el año próximo realicen la muestra en otro lugar,porque me gusta viajar y conocer distintos museos para encontrarme con el filete porteño.

Al finalizar, todos los artistas que quedan se situaron para una foto grupal, cabe decir que estaban todos reunidos desde muy temprano, asique el agotamiento se ve en las caras, mucho día de reunión, charla y actividades deja a cualquiera así, pero muy felices con sus logros, fueron a seguir festejando, porque al día siguiente, les toca continuar.
