My Photos are all taken with my iPhone in July 2022
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are walking along with me 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 around this part of the city of Algeciras in Spain 🇪🇸

Let’s start our walk 😊

We start at the PLAZA ALTA, a beautiful old square in the old part of this city.

On the edges we see ceramic vases and tiles in all colours… it brightens up a day ☀️

We see a church that dominates this square with its architectural features. 🤓

In the centre of the square we see a beautiful fountain with many details… look at the frogs 🐸 on the edge 😊 how cute.

Next to it we see a child feeding the pigeons.

As we walk further, we see on a corner another church. This one is much… much smaller and looks older to me. I like the visual church bells 🔔

Wandering through little streets I see these steps… plants, bushes and trees are planted on the steep street.

Wandering further we reach a park.

If you can remember my #MarketFriday post from not that long ago… about the bonsai trees, it was in this park.

It is nice to be in the shade as it was extremely hot 🥵 weather this day.
I notice this tree… look at how it grew.

Next to it we find this flower… #alwaysaflower of course 🥰🌺

Walking further through some streets towards the car, we pass by a school. A side wall is covered with this #StreetArt - #mural.

Let me show you along it 🤓

The furthest part of it…

We walk around the school and on the other side we see this artwork: A KNIGHT ON A RETRO SCOOTER 🛵 😎

How cool is that 🥰😎

I take the photos through the fence, as I can’t get closer by 📸🤓


As you can see it is higher up. What a find 🤩🥰 LOVE IT! hehehe 🤭

Behind us… the roundabout. Let’s cross… and go back to the car that was parked close by. Too hot to be out for long today 😉

I’m living in Spain since 2015, the southern area, we are moving out of Spain… in the next months up to somewhere next year. Depends how fast paperwork goes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Na de hoeveelheid dat ik verhuisd heb… nope… ik denk dat het tijd is om ergens roots te creëren.
Ben nu aan het pakken voor de tijdelijke accommodatie. Tot we uit Spanje vertrekken. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Door backlogs, delays duurt het allemaal een beetje langer. Zeker omdat we van continent veranderen.

Dat is een super regio. Ik raad je aan niet lager te gaan in Spanje. (Zeker niet rond Murcia)
Het zuiden is zo aan het veranderen. Het klimaat, de winters zijn te koud en de zomers te heet nu. De verschillen zijn meer extreem en ieder jaar meer. De huizen hier zijn er niet voor gebouwd. Zeker de huizen zonder verwarming en geen isolatie. De kou in de winter gaat in je botten zitten. Ook de mensen zijn aan het veranderen.

De regio waar jij kijkt is stukken beter. Beter weer ook.

Wow that looks so beautiful!

And old. I love history and I can't wait to get to Spain to experience the history for myself! (that's why I need to keep that job!)

I would love to know how old that little church is. If I squint my eyes closed enough, I can almost see it in the old days well before the new buildings moved n and started bullying it...

But you are right. That little church does look old and seems to be exciting before all the other buildings.

Hope you can visit Spain one day. Not sure if I will be still here, as we are planning to move out. (We are planning to move out since last October, but encounter some delays)

The plan is going to the US. It’s a relocation with work. It just takes a while. Our move now is because the living conditions in this rental are not favourable anymore. Landlord isn’t fixing important things. And contract ends end of the month. So we move to another rental until our big move 😉 we wait there…

We will for sure come one day to Australia… as even though our visit / trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. This included a family visit. This will go ahead one day and it would be lovely to visit you too 😊🥰

I had to show my wife this post as she lived not far from there across the border from Gibraltar for many years and visited that city a few times

she had told me how beautiful it was and now I can see what she meant i love it all especially those ceramic tiles and mosaics in that square it is amazing

this was such a great tour and showed us all the beauty and cool details

That’s wonderful to hear. To bad you didn’t see it.

Will share some more soon from that area.
We are moving 5 September to Sotogrande. It is close to La Linea.
This move was unplanned, but the living conditions were not good anymore in this apartment. Landlord doesn’t want to fix things, luckily the contract ends end of the month. I found a new rental closer to hubbies work. 24 min drive instead of 1 hour 15 minutes one way… so all good. And it has a garden 🤩
Packing boxes the next days.
I won’t unpack though… as we are still waiting for our big move 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤓 new rental has everything it is fully furnished.

That’s a lot, like me.
My longest is probably 1,5 years… but I have to include childhood. As my parents moved around a lot too, even countries. I’m close to 50 moves now.
Let’s hope a few more, and we can settle down. As it is time for that.

Thank you so much @sizzlinkola 😊 the architecture was cool to see in a place that normally doesn’t look that attractive as it has a lot of high rise buildings. But if you walk around and discover streets inside of it all. You can find some pretty things.

happy days, !! in the distance on your last snap I spot the port area that I had to visit every few weeks on business. I never thought I would see those big blue cranes again ha ha!! made me smile

Oh that’s pretty cool @grindle yep… you have a sharp eye. The port area of Algeciras, it is soooo large.
I visited once that area in 2019 when I needed vaccinations to travel to Cuba. They were given there.
Nice it made you smile. Have you been to the city itself? Or just the port.

We never visit the city, this was the first time and probably last, as… maybe you know… it isn’t that nice and rather dirty nowadays. We got sick after wandering around there and having lunch.

Yes, those vases brighten up the day indeed. And I am fascinated by the churches in your photos. I love how they are situated right in the center of the city. It looks so inviting. Here by us, churches are normally built on their own free-standing (private) properties.

Thanks for taking us with you on your walk. I enjoyed all the detail...but I'll leave you, for now, to get back to your car...I understand, It's hot...lol😁

Glad I discovered him.

Churches are all like that, in the middle of towns or cities. Mostly surrounded and enclosed by other buildings. Not the big cathedrals those stand alone… as they are mostly massive in structures.
Interesting to hear about the differences. 🤓😎

Yes, my flu/bad cold/ Covid is gone luckily. It took me 4 weeks 😣
I still am careful to not overdo it, as that is easy, packing boxes.

Hubby discovered last evening at the front gate that there was a box full with letter addressed for this Urbanizacion. Guess what there were 3 letters for me in there too when he went through.
They never properly delivered them. 😳 just collected somewhere and thought now, ow the box is getting full let’s bring it.
So all letters for me were important ones, that were too late with delivery.
So had to write letters (4 of them) yesterday to correct all. And now I have to go to the post office this morning to send them tracked, and signed for by delivery in the Netherlands 😳 that important are they.
It got me mad… but I couldn’t change it. It will cost me 6,25 euros each letter. Aaawww hope they arrive well. As even with tracking they get lost in Spain. Happened a few times so far.
Another This is Spain thing for you. 🤨 the not delivery of post I mean.

All next to packing and wrapping hehehe 🤭 but all good, I don’t let me influence by it. 😉

Sorry to hear that! It sounds like here but, would never happen here... Mail - you do not play with, Federal Offence.
Here, you cannot even put flyers in mailboxes as they are not delivered by the post office. And if you got an apartment complex, whatever and there is no individual boxes - you "WILL" deliver the mail.
He he he! Your not allowed not to get a bill"!🤣🤣🤣
Actually that is kind of the truth...😲😎😎

I am sorry to hear about the additional running around, in the heat, with packing, and everything else it's just another "stressful " additional thing to do - along with the cost!

Those days exist… things just add up and can be a lot so other things are delayed.

You know… we have individual postboxes 😳 they just can’t care… to put it in there. Let alone deliver to this complex or even street. It is just unbelievable with what they get away with.

Maybe I am doing to much in this rental that is not worth it. But that is just me. I fill holes and paint the areas so all blends nicely and you can’t even see I was there. I know other tenants don’t. But I would like the deposit back 😉🤓 as it’s a lot for here. So I leave it all nice and clean. But you know what? I said "yeah" give me the money. I left immediately and was back in 20 minutes!
No Hassel, drama, nothing.. I figured easier to just go and be done with it! 😉😊😄 So I did end up driving today...

Aawww thank you so much, yes, looking back… the moment it started… all changed, all little puzzle pieces fell into place.
“It” saw this was needed and provided it. We needed to be guided out of there. Fast!

It could have gone so wrong in that old rental. The electricity…
You know what I found while I cleaned Monday afternoon.
I needed to unplug the boiler for the warm water. It only came on during night time… let me show you:


The entire wiring in that place is faulty… I don’t know how much longer it would have been save.
And the landlord doesn’t give a beeeeep…
From the moment the a/c started to act up, than the electricity panel I was afraid of fire…
So glad we are out of there.

Here it doesn’t work, the owner would go to a pint her agency. There is no overlooking organisation to step in. The agency can’t report him.

I know… it is the not caring part… that is what changes it all and makes situations truly bad.
Hubby and I were talking about it, the old place, and the landlord will probably rent it out quickly.
We were worried about the new people. But we shouldn’t do that. We let the agency know. They should know better and let the landlord fix things.
We should try to step away from it. We done all we could.

I know… those times were much better. In many ways. People cared. Now you have zombies walking the streets with phones. They don’t even see the people next to them. Scary… in every way.

You saw it even much closer than me the change. I do feel I was born in the wrong time. My and hubbies mindset are sooooo different 🤓 and yours is too.

I do save that photo for a while. You know, after cleaning it I always take a video or photos of every thing when I leave a rental. Just in case they want to come back with something, that’s not true. I have prove.

Yes, you are right… it used to change gradually throughout the times. But the change from the 60’s - mid 80’s and now… it didn’t happen gradually. All disappeared. Everything. Music, clothes, mindset. Like they erased a civilisation. And replaced it with what we see now. Just crazy to think about it.

Somehow we went back to 1937.. Mentally and Socially - I mean in beliefs..
It's like we keep getting better (very slowly...) Then all of a sudden "whoop" somehow we're back here again.

I believe that is because they have old beliefs to defend more than spreading around any New Discoveries...

Yeah.. It is wild - and I do not mean just the stuff they show You about the time period around 1937...

I haven’t found “the” camera yet. Rather hard as they have evolved so much since I had bought my canon eos 550D… many yearsssss ago. That was 18mp. The ones now are around 50mp so much development. So I need to look into what I want to do, and seek the best camera for that.
The Canon one that would come close are just to expensive, so I might look into Sony or Nikon a bit more…

Nikon's are expensive! Sony's and Cannons are worse! And if You want to just "Stroke Right Out", check out the Fuji's!
But yeah the Megapixels have jumped since I have bought a Camera (except the action cam) myself!
But yeah.. they have gotten pricey!

It was late and we were trying to get out of Boston last evening. We were stuck in the traffic almost all the way to Worcester. And the sun was soooo low. Hard to see. But we made it and we were so tired from traveling. All day. We didn’t see any camera shops or best buys.

We stayed only one night in the middle… we are now almost at the New York State border. So we can explore a few states with only 30 minutes drive in 3 directions 🤩😎

This side the traffic is so minimal… it is actually pleasant to drive around. No traffic at all on the side roads we drive hehehe 🤭 we are doing no toll roads. So all country roads. To get to know the areas.
It’s so much fun.

Exactly… the views are amazingggggg all the trees are turning gold, orange and red. The mountains are cute.
We have been in a few states now. New York, Vermont, Connecticut and of course Massachusetts.
Couldn’t find a Vermont sign or Massachusetts one. But got the other 2 signs 🤓😎 hehehe 🤭 fun fun fun.
We are so close to many other states here. So it is great to just drive and see were we end up. 🚗🚗🚗 vroom vroom… 😉

What is also fun, we start seeing all the halloween 🎃 decorations at houses. Something you don’t see in Spain.

It is cloudy most of the days sadly… but we still love it up here. The day we went up the highest peak it was misty… so no views. But we still enjoyed it.
Tuesday we go for the rest of the days to Boston. 😊😎 looking forward to exploring the city a bit.

It sure was…
It wasn’t full turned, but you could feel the shift. Amazing… some trees changed earlier. Such a pretty sight. Most of the times we were driving when bright red ones popped up around a corner. But no place to stop hehehe 🍁🍁🍂🍂🍁🍁 but I have memories. And some captures.

I can imagine, especially as you have been there. It will be a reconnecting for you. Seeing what changed and what new adventures are out there. 😊😎🍁🍂 road trips ahead…

I’m not used to celebrations that much, Spain doesn’t even do Christmas. But ones we have a little house. I will decorate it. Halloween 🎃 I like… especially the darker theme around it. Must be the goth in me speaking 🦹🏻‍♀️🧛🏻‍♀️ Hehehe 🤭

I had 2 days sunny while we were in Boston. So that was nice and different. The other days mainly cloudy. But I didn’t mind as that gives you a feel better for what the weather can be. Even the rain we had.

Good that You got to experience the Autumn it is a beautiful there.

I do have a few plans to go on some exploratory trips. There are so many places from my youth that I just want to see again and see what time has done.

I actually do not do the whole holiday thing myself, actually from Halloween to X-Mas I don't celebrate any of them till New Years. But yeah, they do it! You would not believe this place at X-Mas! I will photograph when it is time. Though I must mention that it is because of the "Crazy" Church influence here is "overwhelming"!

Yes it is good You got to experience the weather, as it is. Sad the Sun 🌞 only shined two days - it could have been a little more. But You got to see what the "average" is.😉

This area religion took over. I may have mentioned it before, I don't know.. Over the years they have built so many Churches here it is unbelievable. In Corpus Christi (whole town) it's staggering! Out here we had maybe 5 churches now there is 15 I counted off the top of my head. So yeah "all" the suck-ups decorate for these holidays and Halloween as well.
I will post photos when it is X-Mas as it is unbelievable. There are "companies" that come and decorate people's property?!?! 😳 I think You (and me also not) would not like that or the influence it makes in the community...🤔

Although there is some areas where religion has influence up there... In the Connecticut, NY, NJ area your religion is your business - I like that myself!

Yes, exactly!
I mean right now I live in a society where two guys can kiss in public, It's OK.. But no bars and almost Nooo Strip clubs. When I came here they were everywhere.
So No Bars, No Strip Clubs, but.. More Churches and Gay People who have more rights to be gay than I have to be normal... Sounds like the stuff The Bible was written against. And I am not a big Bible guy, but there is areas...😎

I watched a few YouTube videos lately.. My conclusions have modified themselves a bit...
I think this show is "genetic"... I say this because another family member is doing the same kinds of things to a "poor Filipino" lady who was never in the States before...
And if you watch, it looks like a genetic thing to get fat, and find others to take up any and all slack... There are other family members of theirs as well and the same always, they are preying on someone...
This You cannot save or help, sadly...

It is just such a different world at the moment. Changes are good yes, but probably not all.
The world is changing to fast and some people can’t catch up.
Loose their own thoughts and getting influenced tooooo much.

Well in a big way Your right! On the other hand I have begun to see things like this....
Maybe everything is "live, here, now".
Just everything is getting pushed out in the open, what was hidden away....

Those that are getting led into crap are mostly going through it (I mean the choose to be stupid stuff) because they don't want "anything else".

Which is also why I think my roommates problems are genetic. They "do" know better.. But, if being fat and lazy is the consequences of eating all the time, watching TV and playing phone and video games, then so be it (for them). That "You", (or me, anybody really) does not get that and help them as much as possible means I am being "mean", not them.

And there is no changing, they believe they are being what their '"gene pool" produces, and they should defend that.

Indeed, some things where hidden, behind doors. Now everybody knows everything. And instantly. Not days later. When something mayor happens within an hour it is known around the entire world.
Everybody want to live now. Don’t think further ahead.

I do get it. They know but choose the easy way.

That’s even worse… wow. They think that way. Crazy… they believe they are this way because of there genes. I would do anything about that to change it and be me. I would not let anything (my genes) say I should be a certain way… nope, not happening.

Sorry for the short answers, getting tired and late. Somehow it was a long day and shopping groceries was a chore. Toooo busy everywhere.

Yeah it's like a constant Tennis match! With no end! And the younger ones think this is normal...🤔

Well....Hmm... These are the same.. They are also Native American, and don't want to be (like my brother), so...
They will do anything at anytime to prove their "dislike" to someone else, as will my brother...
How this works I do not know exactly...
I do know "Aaron McGruder" has made a Character and movie on it. "Uncle Ruckus", only difference is he is Black and hates Blacks.. And yeah, it's "RIDICULOUS" to be this way, which is what the movie shows. I think they could both watch the film and not see themselves in it...
And yep... My brother and the clown that started that here (the fat one) are both "Cancers"... Uuggghhh....

Yes, unbelievable those kind of people are out there. They just put away where they came from. As it is something bad, but it isn’t. Just weird… but hey… believes are being put in boxes. To make them go away nowadays. Including this.
