Walk around Paris ~ highlights of day 2 - Part 1 in Paris, France 🇫🇷

avatar

Hi all 👋🏻

With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge. That are hosted by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng every week on Wednesday.

‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in! or at @tattoodjay ’s Post here: “Wednesday Walk at the Port“
It tells you also the rules of joining in, at the end of his post 😁

Of course you know by now I have been in Paris, France 🇫🇷 Beginning of this beautiful month of July.
As I made 1768 photos, some days more than 500 photos, I continue to only post some highlights per day and when there are too many… LIKE TODAY… it will be in 2 parts 😉🤩 so today I show you PART 1 of the SECOND day.

Today’s selection will be of 41 photos, where I take you through off the beaten paths in Paris 😎 in the 11th and 20th Arr. /District.

My Photos are all taken with my iPhone on 2 July 2022
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are walking along with me 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Through the streets of this amazing city Paris 😊
The entire day walk was only 14 km, this part 1 will be half of it. Kinda…

The first day you can find here if you missed it:
Walk around Paris ~ highlights of day 1 - Part 1 🇫🇷

Walk around Paris ~ highlights of day 1 - Part 2 🇫🇷

Let’s start our walk for today… are you coming with me?

Did you bring water? No, ok… don’t worry I know some water fountains along the way 😉

I haven’t shown you the view out of the hotel room… so here you go. Look at the majestic buildings across the street. This is in the 10th Arr. /District.

After we met up outside… we start our walk. Not having a real goal to go somewhere or see a large monument. We just see where the day takes us 😎

We come across some #StreetArt, it is a fun piece.

Look there, all the way up on the wall. I point to you walking further.

Such creativity. Pretty cool 😎

We reached the 11th Arr. /District now. And we bumped into a friendly local. He agreed to show a friend’s place. More specifically… the courtyard of a Parisian building complex.
We enter a large door… and we walk quietly to the back. And see everywhere green. Plants, flowers and even trees. Hidden away from all. Only known by the people living there. In busy Paris. 😎

We see little parts, like a back garden at each house.

Look how cute. Yep I could spend some time here, don’t you think?

We say thank you to the kind person for showing us and we walk along… 👋🏻👋🏻😊

After finding a gate in the 20th Arr. /District, and a little sign saying: there is a little pathway… passage de Ménilmontant.
We enter and walk down some steps. We are in the back of some social housing complexes… on the border between districts. Where a train/ tram used to go… 🚂

It’s an interesting place that allows us to cut a large part crossing districts.

So much green here. We walk in the train tracks.

Of course we have to look at some details… we gooooo down to capture it all 😎📸

So refreshing to see so much nature, in a big city!

Our views walking further until we notice a path in the left before this container.

We are walking along and notice this sign.

NOTRE DAME DE LA CROIX
Yes, there is another church in Paris with this famous name… most don’t know about.

Let’s go inside and have a look around:

The door way on the side of the church we enter.

Walking up these stairs… we notice right away, it is nice and fresh. How lovely. 😊

Entering the church…

It is massive… and beautiful.

Let’s walk around.

The ceiling looks like it contains out of steel ribs.

On the walls very large paintings, we have a look at them. They tower high above us.

Beautiful.

The middle of the church.

Looking to the main entrance… exit.

Waiting for a moment other people leave 🤓😎

An altar in the back.

The large paintings next to it.

The opposite side.

We walk out and have this view after we reach the bottom of the steps.

It’s a beautiful church, too bad it is not that well known as it looks like it does need some repair work doing.

Zooming out more…

The sign on the gate.

Let’s walk further… we go through more back streets from the 20th Arr. It is so quiet here… lovely to be away from all the hustle and bustle.

We see a large park now and enter…

Let us rest for a moment in the shade on that bench… we deserve it before we go further.
Do you see the water fountain? To the left of the child. Let’s drink some water… it is so nice and cool. Truly fresh.

We watch the world go by for some moments… as we have to climb some steps… are you ready for it? We are going up the mountain now 😎😊

Ok, let’s go… half way up we look back. Beautiful… the covered path going up.

Reaching the top, there are more paths and benches everywhere. A stunning place to spend some hours for sure. In the shade of the trees that provide much needed cooler air.

Our view down below the path… grass area where you can play and rest.

If you need some more water after climbing the steps up the mountain… here you go. Another water fountain. 😊

Let’s look around. 🥰🥰🥰 stunning views over Paris.

Zooming out a bit… what a great place!

We walk further and see the Eiffel Tower next to us, popping through the trees… do you see it?

Walking down hidden alleyways…

My favourite view of the entire day 🤩

Hope you enjoyed going along with me on this part… off the beaten path route… we will continue next Wednesday with part 2 from here.

And that’s all for today! Stay tuned for more Paris related content 👋🏻😁😉 Until next time 😎
Hope you enjoyed my photos of this next day of our adventures around Paris. Thank you for looking and reading 😊 🙏🏻 Really much appreciated!
Here is my next post of Paris @joetunex, @wrestlingdesires ☺️ (Let me know when I shouldn’t continue tagging you, please)

Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help.
Have a great Wednesday all 😎

Love seeing your walks in Paris
I don’t remember seeing much street art the times I visited there but to be honest I didn’t explore that fun was generally overnight stopovers

Love all those green areas

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Thanks so much @tattoodjay 😁👋🏻 Much appreciated!
We went far away from the touristy bits and every street literally is covered by great StreetArt. From 500 photos a day 200 are from StreetArt. I never saw this amount in another place I have visited.
And not just the tags, real murals with great work.

We saw a lot of green nature in our walks around. I truly was impressed by it 😁🌳🌳🌳 just wonderful to see in Paris itself. A place for locals to relax… and recharge.
Have a great day further, happy to share some more 👋🏻😉😎

I think you really get the feel of the true essence of a city by getting out of the tourist spots and off the beaten track most places I visit I like to do that

Wow amazed to hear there is so much street art there

Yeeeeeee, another Wednesday walk with you Ma'am, always refreshing and memorable, those first street art are just so cute and that one of two people under an umbrella was really awesome.

Oh my, I almost forgot, that building opposite the hotel is huge and beautiful to, wow. The architects in Paris are just damn good.

Yes, my greetings to the person that guided us to that beautiful place with so many beautiful flowers and plants, that train trail looks really old but still beautiful.

Oh, incredible, the church is so tall and big, not to mention its beautiful too. Those stairs outside the church hall are many, but I guess I would have enjoyed running down, hehehe.

That first fountain is indeed a life saver, I can imagine how cool it was, I'm happy we could get somewhere to rest a little before we continued our journey.

Yeah, I'm so happy we will be going up the mountain, I heard the views from there are always fantastic. Oh wow, the pathway is just so cool, see that view of the park from up here, awesome, I love it.

Wow, I can see the tower, it looks so tiny from here, how fascinating, hehehe. The sky looks so blue and beautiful, I always love looking up the clouds and this is a glorious view for me 😍😍.

I really do enjoyed the walk with you once again, I'm never tired of walking the streets of Paris with you, it's just so fun.

You are a really good buddy to go on a walk with, let's do this again next time 😎😎😎☺️😁😁.

You are joining me again on this beautiful day… always so much fun @hopestylist 😁 the things we see.
I loved that we saw those StreetArt finds, even high up, we spotted them. The couple under the umbrella is just romantic, such a good fit in Paris.

Almost all streets look like that, super large buildings with beautiful architecture. Most are devised into tiny apartments. To house the many people living there.

He enjoyed our company for a little while.
The train tracks are old and not in use anymore. It is a nice escape from the busy streets.

Yes… you went running all the way down, I couldn’t catch up with you hahaha 🤣 so much fun!
The church is stunning, the columns large and the paintings… so much and so big. We couldn’t see all details in them. As they were high up towering all over us. But it was great.

The fountain was so nice, we cooled even our faces and necks down… than our arms.
The water tasted good too, nothing like the chlorinated water here in Spain. That you can’t drink.

Great you still wanted to climb all the way up.
The best hidden views of Paris. We stayed for a while… to treasure the views. It was wonderful.

The Eiffel Tower looks small but o so cute…
Glad we saw it again.

Happy you joined me on this first part of our day. Let’s rest for now… and catch up next week.
Thank you so much, let’s just do that!
Enjoy your day further 👋🏻☀️😊

For sure, I'm never missing a walk with you except circumstances beyond my control happens, hehehe. The fun is so massive that I just can't avoid missing any of it.

Yes, the street arts were cute because of how small they are 😁😎, it's a good thing we spotted them despite how small they appeared, hehehe and yes that of the couple look so romantic indeed 😍.

Hmm, I see, I'm sure it has more than hundreds of people if not thousands living there. The streets are indeed filled with so much huge buildings and the architecture is just so overwhelming and beautiful.

Yes, I'm sure he did enjoy it because I must have made him laugh a good laugh 😁.
It's obvious it's no longer functioning and I'm really glad we got directions from our friend, it really made our walk so easy.

Hehehe, so sorry I left you behind, it was just so fun running down 😁🙈.
Yes the church was just so big and even if we didn't get to see everything, I'm satisfied with the few we saw, it's enough to tell us how magnificent the building was.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we have needed to cool our bodies too and the water did the magic. How do you manage to get clean water over in Spain?

Sure, I always love the stairs, although sometimes it's tiring but it's just so fun most times. And I won't want to miss those beautiful views from the top, hehehe and I'm glad I didn't because it was absolutely beautiful.

Yes, the Eiffel Tower looks really cute from that distance.

Yes, I enjoyed the first walk and I'm very positive I will enjoy the second, let's just keep praying for that day, hehehe.

Soon there is a new one… just a week away 😁👋🏻😎

We drink bottled water in Spain, and for some of the cooking. Not all. The things that soak in the water I do use bottled water too. My skin is so dry from the showers in the over chlorinated water.
Some do drink it… but that just can’t be healthy. Tourists do get sick if they consume too much.
But this is not everywhere. Up in the mountains are some springs, but not here in the south.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yes, I'm anticipating it.

Okay, that's better but it's going to be really expensive especially when you use it at times for cooking.

You just need to get a moisturizing cream to help your skin stay moisturized.

They that are drinking it might be already use to it. Tourists that drink the water might have no knowledge about the water because if they do they won't even taste it at all.

Those that are close to the mountain are enjoying so much from nature 🥺🥺. It is well 😎✌️.

0

Yep… it will be more expensive for sure. But healthier.

Doing that forever, tried it all. Even oils and butters 😁

Yes, countryside and living in nature does come with advantages.

Yes it is be, our health is very important to us so we have to take care of it no matter what.

Hehehe that's good, but wait, did you say butter, like butter?

Yes, living in the countryside comes with so much blessings from nature.

Our view down below the path… grass area where you can play and rest.

The picture below the above statement, lovely shot! Was the shot taken from elevated ground, looks like a shot taken by a drone?

Am curious Jackie, your photos are so detailed and requires some patient, most of the time you mention "we" during your walk photography, are your companions photography lovers? It will be a pleasant experience having a walk with friend(s) of same passion.

Great shots Jackie!

If you look to the right in the photo you see a building. I was standing on a part from it. It had the path going to it… the structure is open. So a balustrade in front of us, I’m leaning over and taking that shot. The top of the mountain is higher than the park…

Most of the times the “we” or “our” part is the person who reads my post and me. As I try to capture the readers with it… if that makes sense 😇 and I explained it well.

My companions are no photographers… so people do need to have some patience with me when joining me on my travels hahaha 🤣 but they do… luckily 🥰 but I do have traveled alone too. 🤓
Paris I visited with hubby. So we are walking along everywhere. He knows we will stop many times for me to see details, take it all in, not alone taking pictures hehehe
It would be lovely to do a walk with other photography lovers… but haven’t done that yet. As if there was another one that is interested in photography, others that joined in as well were not. So it has been always a big mix.

Thank you so much Joe
Happy you joined me on my walk 😉

Great! that shot really got me curious on how you shot it, thanks for explaining 😃

Makes sense, I recall when going with none photography lovers friend(s) they sometimes get impatient and walk on or feel embarrassed when am taking pic of my coffee in a coffee shop for instance 😃

We tend to see beauty in things some don't see, your detailed photograph of the train track made me think if your companion(s) are patient with you, fortunately hubby knows you too well 😃

Happy I could explain it Joe 😉 you are welcome.

So far it was ok… on my travels, most know me when they join me. But I do understand what you say. Some can be uncomfortable with it. Also when they are not on-line, social media, photographers or even artists.

Yep, we see so much more… luckily I am also a quick photographer, especially now I only have my phone. So I click a few buttons and get the capture. So I don’t hold up others hehehe 🤭
Yes, luckily it is all fine 😊

Aaah how lovely 😍 its sooo nice to see paris through your eyes.

I made 1768 photos, some days more than 500 photos

Really? When I make 100 pics on one day i always think its tooo much. Lol. From now on I won't think this anymore 😅🤗😝 more than 500 a day. Wooouuupwoooup ypu are good. And your battery's live long...

W5LtFUPm6g73GywJLc4qya717jY4hemJ4yGThw4WwyS58npvNTQ1Q87RL98StdspQcrxjzCxSMuwNdi8V7cDog2y73wuxX8yArHEHNdDDHPDe1LLGYUpqRvidawm95t7myoHmb4kRTtjaqbAEoEfghFvBMjEn.jpeg
Short question, left on the corner... Is this a Italian pizzaria? It looks so familiar to me... Was thinking that this was my pizza place the last time when i was there. Is this spot directly on the river, Seine?

Anyway, the church is the highlight. Suxh great architecture.
Thabks for sharing your journey with us littlebee. Always fantastic to read and see your posts. Thanks for that. Huuuugie huuuuugs toooo yaaaaaa ☀️💯💖🤗

You made it and joined me yay… I so loved our walk together @akida 😉🥰

Hahaha yep… with my phone I do. Imagine going away on big travels. So much I see and want to capture. As I think it is for future art works…
Don’t think 100 on a day is much. Just go with it and have fun. Take amazing captures. Loved the ones from Portugal 🥰

My battery of my phone doesn’t last 7 hours when we are out and about. I tend to take my charger. When we go for lunch somewhere I charge… than around 1600h we go for a cappuccino somewhere and I charge again… etc. without doing this my battery won’t last. 😇😎

Not that I know…. This is right next to Gare l’est the train station in the 10th Arr. / district. So rather far from the Seine.

Yes, I loved visiting this church, it is stunning. Thanks for appreciating it 😉😄
Happy to share our adventures my arty friend 🥰 you are welcome. Thank you for your lovely comment.

Wow, just wow! What a stunning walk along in Paris. It feels like I am there with you. Such a stunning place. I envy you!

I especially love the art at the beginning, it reminds me of Banksy, if you know him, and if it is not a Banksy! What lovely creative pieces of art in the city.

And I just love the church. I visited so many when I was in Italy. They also have some stunning and big churches, some very old and some with spectacular modern art. What lovely places these old towns with their churches. It is good (in my opinion) that they protect them as historical monuments.

Lastly, those hidden pathways are the best. The walkways that no one knows about are sometimes the best because of their breathtaking beauty. I love them.

Thank you so much for the stunning photographs you share with us!

Thank you so much @fermentedphil 😁😎 great you came along with me 😉 and enjoyed it this much.

I love StreetArt and have posted every week 1 post about it so far. The last few are about the StreetArt in Paris. It was truly THE place I saw the most StreetArt I have ever seen. I will post many more…
Of course I know Banksy.
I’m an artist myself and have painted several murals, but mainly I paint small… fine art, with lots of details and I create airbrush works too. 🎨🎨

I loved walking through the streets and finding every street something arty, be it a mural, poster, sticker or even ceramic and tiles on the walls. It wasn’t tacky… all were nice.

The church was special, some do speak… and than I enter to explore. This was one of them.

Yes, they need to be explored, off the beaten paths… hidden away alleys. Always.
You are welcome, happy to share and taking you along with me 😁👋🏻
Have a lovely Thursday further!

I’m an artist myself

Oh wow, that makes so much sense now! Stunning, so you appreciate the smaller things people often look past. That is awesome! And wow, you do murals! That is awesome. Do you have a post in which you share some of them? I will look out for future posts about art as well! Street art is next level, I just love it.

Yes, it is often on those travels when you go off of the beaten path that you make the most precious memories! You are so lucky! Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks a lot @fermentedphil much appreciated 😊
Yep, probably the main reason why I see so much details around me. Combine art with my photography and you have a great combo. So details are just a must!

Of course 😇 I have posted about my art already, here are a few of many posts 😉 only if you have time…
Airbrush wheelcover

Graphite portrait

Pastel Lion

Landscape in acrylic

Mural restaurant

Mural tree of life 10 meters
Includes a part 1 link.

Gouache snails

If not, don’t worry I will post more art from myself too besides sharing StreetArt finds 😎 love sharing it.

Thank you again, I do feel lucky and I appreciate it, that I can do what I do. Basically live where I want and create art and travel. Not many can say or do that. I so know.
You are welcome, happy to share.
Have a wonderful Friday, almost weekend!

Combine art with my photography and you have a great combo

That is the perfect combination, right! It makes you see the world in a totally different light and with different eyes from those who do not have those skills. I think I am also in the art and photography group.

Wow, just stunning. I could not view all the posts, but the landscape one and the lion and the dog ones are stunning. You are really really talented!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share them with me in the comment. I really appreciate it.

And you are so lucky to be able to do what you want to. I wish for that as well! But I am still young and like a sculptor, I am still sculpting my life.

Sorry for my late reply, got a bad flu/ cold since a few days, wasn’t on-line anymore. Still not recovered 🤒🤧

Exactly, great combo. Nice to hear you fall also in that category 😉
Thank you so much, much appreciated! You are welcome, of course anytime. Always good to get to know the people you are talking too, right?

Thanks, hope you can go that way too, hearing you are still young… you have time, I only started my art and photography when I was 33 years old in 2011 (ish) 😉 before that I studied engineering and was an drafts(man) woman/ architect.
So sculpt away and create what you dream of @fermentedphil 😁
Have a lovely Sunday!

Sorry about the flu, it is never nice and recovery is always the longest.

Lots of time yes, to cultivate the artwork of my own life.

I am still stuck on trying to finish the Ph.D. (in philosophy of all things). So I am actively sculpting.

Have a splendid week, and a speedy recovery!

Treading away from the tacky tourist, love this, the street art early on, and love your framing especially in the last two snaps.

Definitely a day to remember :) Those paintings are world class! Who was the artist?

Thanks @wrestlingdesires 😁 it sure was.
The paintings are truly masterpieces. There was no information about them next to them. I couldn’t find a signature either. One of the paintings had something written in the bottom right, but I couldn’t read or get a clear shot of it.
Nobody around to ask. I haven’t googled it though…
Have a wonderful Friday 👋🏻☀️
