Let’s visit a park together today in the Netherlands and see all the details around us… πŸ‡³πŸ‡±

Hi all πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Today I want to share with you all a selection of photographs I took when I wandered through a park, without other people present, what made it rather peaceful and perfect to share today.
This park is located around a castle in Roermond the Netherlands. β€œKasteeltje Hattem”
The castle is used as hotel and restaurant for as long as I can think. We won’t be visiting it today though… that I leave for another time… let’s enjoy a stroll through the Park together πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

All photos are taken with my (late) #Canon eos 550D with 18 - 135 mm lens in 9 August 2013.
I’m following the time stamps to show you around this peaceful Park.

Come along… and start our walk together… I’m sure you love the green nature around us.

Walking past the moat around the castle… we see the entrance bridge to the castle.

Everywhere next to the path we walk on, we see beautiful flowers…

Grasses… and bushes.

Of course I show you some details. As you know by now, I love details 😎πŸ₯°

There are large grass areas and in the middle we find very old trees.

A closer up of the old tree… 🌳🌳🌳

On the edge of the park we find the β€œROER” a river going through Roermond, which is a city in the Province of Limburg.

We didn’t cross the river, this is just to show you. Now we walk back on the many pathways into the park.
We see this large butterfly plant. As we call it in the Netherlands… πŸ˜‰

Let’s have a look what little creatures we can find: we zoom in ☺️

Of course the first one I notice is a little bee 🐝

Next we find this cute butterfly πŸ¦‹

Wonderful aren’t they?

Let’s walk furtherβ€¦πŸ˜‰

We walk past the pond that is also part of the moat around the castle.

We see loads of water lily plants…

Focussing on some details of the grasses along the pond.

Let me know if you want to sit down for a moment and enjoy the views… benches enough throughout the park 😎

Let’s watch the world go by for a moment… πŸ₯°

Ok, yes, you want to walk further… ok ok, I’m coming along… wait for me, not to fast 😊

We see some cows on the other side of the park, let’s walk to them and say hi πŸ‘‹πŸ»β˜€οΈ

There is a large group… munching along on the grass.

As we are looking closer by this young one sees us… and looks curious in our way. Caught you πŸ“Έ

A large one walks by.

Others look up… but they continue quickly again with eating some delicious grass. πŸ€“

We are walking further through the furthest part of the park were fields are that go far beyond the boundaries…

We see more details around us, fallen trees…

The creatures that can hide and seek there. πŸ€“

Look there!

A grasshopper 😎

I zoom in for you…

It’s so cute, I like their little heads. Do you?
Have you watched closely at a grasshopper once?

And with this last cute Photo I want to say… that’s all for today, join me in my next posts for more #adventures, #stories and #photographs” πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘‹πŸ» Even some #artworks once in a while will come by 🎨
Thank you so much for looking, and reading. And if you liked my post, an upvote or re-blog is always welcome πŸ™πŸ»

Have a great day all πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘‹πŸ»

What a beautiful park so much to see from that grand old tree so big and sturdy beautiful flowers and plants and that gorgeous butterfly

The cows remind me of the many times I spent on an uncles farm when I was young

Thank you so much @tattoodjay
I lived a few times very close by, so could walk to it when I wanted, until I moved again. Hehehe 🀭

It isn’t that large, the park, but so much to see, it is always well maintained. Has a lot of history to and a large remembrance statue…

The cows are just cute and so woolly, normally you only see the black and white ones in the Netherlands, but the last 14 or so years they changed.
Great to hear it reminded you of an uncles farm. 😁
Have a great day further πŸ‘‹πŸ»β˜€οΈ

It is beautiful and I lived… about 28 years of my life there. Ok, in lots of different places in the Netherlands.
I know it well, have been there since I was 6. So the largest part of my childhood.

Thank you so much @zakludick 😁 it is a great place to wander through.
Not sure why there were no people back than. But love peaceful around me, so all fine.

Hahaha and it is in Dutchyland. We say β€œroeren” for β€œto mix”. And β€œik roer” for β€œI mix” or it is even used for the wheel on a ship. Our languages are so close πŸ€“πŸ˜‰

Lol. "Ek roer" but we also use the word "meng" to mean "mix". While "roer" could be used to say "stir".

Another use is to say "Roer jou gat!" which is an impolite "Move your arse!" 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

I know… for us… everyday is actually the same, no difference.

They all run away @dandays… most don’t want to β€œbe real” let’s provide a pretty picture so all looks fun and happy. Sure that isn’t the case in many lives.

I was talking with some others about the following, but I’m all over the place so hard to pick up on…
We are fighting a landlord who doesn’t want to replace the aircon unit that is 20+ years old.
It died over a week ago… with summer in sunny southern Spain πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅ and a heat wave of 37+ degrees Celsius. So inside it’s just as warm as outside. I can’t even think straight at the moment, let alone be productive and work…
Technician came last week. Told the landlord it needs to be replaced. Agency came back Thursday… landlord wants second opinion… but we can’t get anybody before Tuesday… 😳 so yesterday technician 2 came… o my… it needs to be replaced, but land lord doesn’t want too. So did some botch job… got it running again, but second problem couldn’t be fixed. The fuses and cables in the electricity board are overheating and NOT BLOWING/ switching off. So electricity goes a few times… without anything tripping.
Got the advice from the technician and agency… raise your potencia so the unit can run as it is too old, you just have to lay more.
Pardon me 😳😳😳 send more power through cables that already are overheating and not tripping switches… hahaha feel me… lol I had a cable fire/ melting fuses in my last apartment without heating or aircon. So I know it can happen. They said, it rarely happens hahaha
Crazy stuff, truly. Still waiting on an electrician before we get fire πŸ”₯

Speaking of fire… 5 wildfires around us at the moment. One is 600 meters away.
But besides that, and waiting to hear updates, doing crazy paperwork, being treated as the tourist everywhere… 🀬🀬🀬 even if you speak Spanish they answer back in English nowadays… getting ripped of in restaurants so watch out for that… (putting things on the bill you did not have) all is good.
I’m sure I forgot some things lol

Whole-e f-word shit! I so feel your pain.

Central and South America is eerily similar. Before you understand the currencies, you did get robbed. Even if only for 20 colones which is worth less than a penny, they got you. It ends up you have to check the receipt, check the change in a cab/market/anywhere which sucks cuz you're admitting you don't trust them. Then you catch them trying to steal from you and they fake smile like it was an accident.

I had to translate meters to miles and WOAH! That fire's close!

I'm impressed with your understanding of electrical terminology. You know I played with that stuff for 22 years right? Each thing you mentioned I understand the potential. Simple fix too. But when you don't have the tools or know where to get the parts or know who to call to shut off the main... I can only imagine. Man that would drive me crazy to understand the theory and nobody will help.

It sure is… I can tell you stories what happened the last few years in Spain and you will think I’m living in a third world country, not the western world.

It is just like that here at the moment. They are in survival mode and don’t care for anyone none Spanish.
Yep, we point it out… for sure, but having to do that every time is just getting in my nerves. We don’t go out for food and drinks like we used too.
Also no fresh produce available at the moment. The supermarkets sell food that is off already. Moldy fruit and veggies in the stores. Meat that when you open the package rotten meat smells comes out so you don’t even open it further. We are not buying meat anymore as it was about 3 times a week that we found this.

I just got a message from the agency, somebody will turn up tomorrow. Guess what she also said:
β€œthe safest thing is that you have to hire more power from the company to avoid losing power. Just pay more.”

Really… 😳😳 she has no idea what she is playing with.
Luckily I do understand enough for me to feel not safe until it is properly checked what is wrong.
I know that stupid air conditioner unit needs to be replaced too. But the electricity board is not working properly either. The fuses get so warm from the aircon unit truly hot. No others…

I did read you climbed up poles in your post. Now I know why… didn’t know the electricity ⚑️ bit. But I could have known.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow. I keep you updated πŸ€“πŸ˜Ž it is driving me nuts.
I studied engineering btw. So know a bit about buildings πŸ˜‰

Update: he won’t come as the electrician has Covid. And the agency said he is the only one they trust… 😳 so we wait further… until he gets better.

They only have one technician?

Here I am. Good morning. I saved your responses for last. I kinda took the digital day off yesterday.

You're counting the days like we are. I can sense it in your text. If I'm understanding correctly, you've had enough and were ready to leave months ago. You're near Gibraltar, correct? I might be screwing that up. I haven't heard many good stories from that area.

The produce/meat issue, is that country wide or...?

The picture you've painted, I now have a better understanding why citizenship is so easy to acquire there and I'm uneasy about it. I'm not really enjoying what you're experiencing. The US, as fucked as it is, is becoming more appealing the more you enlighten me.

Yeah... Ok, purchase more energy so what's left of the circuits combust and burn the whole joint down. Yikes.

Morning @dandays πŸ‘‹πŸ»πŸ˜

She said it is the only one they trust!
Here everything is done badly, they don’t care about their work anymore. Finding good craftsmanship in todays climate… don’t even try. The agency isn’t even looking for another electrician as they don’t trust others…
Customer service doesn’t exist at all. Especially if they see or know you are not Spanish.
It is a messed up place at the moment.
Also the agency wanted to let the electrician come today with covid. He is still working 😳
Sorry but that is just crazy… they don’t know if a person is vulnerable when he visits, I am as my immune system is weakened. So it would endanger me. I said he isn’t getting in here until he can show a negative test.
I avoided it so far… sure don’t want to get sick πŸ€’

Yep, there you are. 😎 yes, it is needed to take of time from the on-line demanding world once in a while.

We are… as we started the conversations last October we would have hoped we would have moved just before the summer… nope we are still here. Counting the days. Almost put life on hold in some way.
We are 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away from Gibraltar. We sure didn’t want to live next to it. As I know that is a bad area. So not us.
So hubby is driving 3 to 4 times a week twice a day that distance. The rest is remote work.

I’m not sure how far the produce/ meat thing is stretching but believe me we tried the last months… supermarkets from Malaga all the way to Gibraltar to find better food. This entire big stretch doesn’t have it. All moldy in the store. I will take this weekend some pictures when we go again, promised another person. I will show you.

You for sure wouldn’t want to be in our position. I soooo hope higher up in Spain it is different.
As here it is …. Not nice in soooo many ways.

The US. for sure doesn’t sound that bad at the moment even though we know what is going on there. The north east is sure better than what we are experiencing here in Spain.

I KNOW, what do they think… just raise it and nothing will happen. The switches don’t blow, the cable is already so hot with just a little amount of time that I put on the aircon. Other wise it is not doable in here.
Just plain ignorance… they don’t care and are stalling to get a new unit. Cheap owner… and an agency that thinks I’m stupid and don’t care more.
I told her in my last message that they should stop treating us like that, that what she is doing is no solution in any way and that I know what I’m talking about. She only replied with: OK.

REALLY… sigh crazy crazy…

Funny you mention customer service. Just wait'll you experience customer service in Americaβ€”worlds apart. 24/7 customer service, unlike anywhere we've experienced. Where I'm from they pick up the phone on the first ring, even on Sunday, they know competition is one call away. And they're polite, too, "customer is always right" is National motto whereas everywhere else we've been, they won't even call you back much less answer the phone. There's no such thing as customer service anywhere abroad which isn't everywhere, but a lot of places.

Restaurant service is no comparison either. You'll never have an empty glass in America compared to everywhere elseβ€”lose sight of the server after they hand off your plate. Hence customary to tip, don't forget. We tip in the states not only because they earn it by repeatedly making rounds to make sure you're comfortable during your meal but also because snakey restaurant owners are only required to pay employees minimum wage so servers rely on tips to supplement their income. Therefor they're so on-point and hospitable during your visit.

I can't describe in words the difference between US customer service compared to everywhere else but trust me when I say, you'll feel like a queen.

I love it all…
Can’t wait to experience it again.
We traveled both together and separately (before we met) on different occasions to the US. And so loved the service in restaurants.
I knew about the minimum wage, and I am happy to tip when I get back soooo much.

Here in Spain, you are sitting and waiting and waiting… you ask the bill once you got their attention after several attempts… and you wait again, sometimes even half an hour if you don’t get up and walk inside in the meantime. They look at you, β€œyou want the bill, you want to pay and inconvenience my day…” it is just ridiculous. I know we have to adjust and be patient, but waiting hours for food, or a refill or the bill… literally is just… 🀬 nope. Hehehe 🀭

We had sometimes even that they threw a plate on the table, not just once or in the same place.
Not even a smile…
Even if the service in the US is sooo over the top and the smile fake (sometimes) it is 1000 times better than here. I trade it anytime.

You know after living so long in Spain, when we visited Paris, we got polite servers. Making sure all was good.
People on the street greeting us. Just to say good day, how are you and enjoy your day further. Without wanting anything else… seriously just that!
I remember sitting on a bench next to the canal. And a guy walked by. Smiled so beautiful and said that.
We were perplexed, we quickly greeted back, he was almost past us.
We were shocked about our reactions at first. That we didn’t trust it, we though he wanted something… we didn’t enjoy just the hello… it happened every day in Paris and it truly made us realise. That is so much better living. Why did we loose that. It is not us here in Spain.
Be genuinely polite to other people around you, care about them, smile. In Spain you won’t find that.

Don’t get me started about paperwork and their mistakes…

Simply fascinating... Some of these photos demonstrate a rare kind of sensitivity... There is a lot of artistic feeling in many of them, especially the ones of flowers and plants...
