Today I want to share with you the following StreetArt find I discovered while I was in #MADRID for a long weekend 12 - 15 March 2022 when I still lived in #SPAIN 🇪🇸 😊🌼🌸
I captured this #mural / #art #work on a small piece of a side #wall.

A homage to two women.
My mother, who made this beautiful sculpture when she was my age, who has held, carried, cared and guided, empathy embodied. And to Hyuro, our dear Tamara, who passed away last year, a warrior in painting & life and the master of poetic force, the silent shout.
They met when @h_y_u_r_o came to stay and paint in Cardiff in 2014.
As someone once painted around my neighborhood in London, “The Power is Gentle”.

This is such a cool one! I really like it. One can seriously analyse this with a glass of wine. “The second woman symbolises xyz.” But what caught my eye was the hands. It just looks so strange, but in a good way.

Yes, a glass of wine and analyzing sounds perfect.
The hands, one goes fully under the sculpture and the other one comes from the other side. Like making a cross with the hands.

Wine makes one see the poetry in the lines and colors (at least for me haha).
Oh now I see it! It looks really intricate. If you have too much wine it becomes a strange object.

I was intrigued by her hands and had to take a moment to determine their placement. Otherwise, did she have nine fingers? They draw you in, there is something special about it, perhaps the way she crosses her arms/hands or perhaps they are drawn to look strong and determined.

I can see that it does look different, but looking closer I know exactly how her hands are placed.
The thumb of her left hand isn’t showing.
They do portray some strong hold and it’s very powerful. She did a great job with this homage to the 2 women.
