Welcome to the Land of Light

This is the enigmatic name of a public art installation by artist Henry Tsang in the False Creek inlet downtown. The artist placed aluminum lettering along the seawall handrail with phrases in the Chinook language (jargon) translated to English.

See talk be here there and everywhere at one time

The letters have lights that shine at night and look cool. Or so I understand because I've never seen them myself. One of these nights, I'll make my way down there and see it with me own eyes. 👀

Here you begin live like new - Come to time.

The installation takes about 100 meters of the handrail. It has undergone several changes since it was installed in 1997, many of which have to do with the lighting sytem.

You live fast like light

You may have noticed a floating tiki hut on the water. I assure that I am just as mystified as you are. My guess is that that you can rent it to have a private floating barbecue function with friends, family, and/or lovers.
