RE: Dreaming of Santo Domingo

This particular area called Zona Colonial is interesting because you can see many historic sights that are well maintained and others that require more maintenance. When I was there earlier this year, I saw a lot of construction on the streets because they are upgrading them. So that was wonderful to see, even if it was in front of my hotel, because in addition to fixing a few problems, the work rejuvenates the area and provides many jobs for the locals.
