I was going to mention that it reminded me of the Argentine pampas that I've seen on images and video. I haven't seen that type of soil colour here, but there could be areas in the dryer parts of province like the Okanagan region, where a lot of wine is produced.

More than in the pampas, it is in Misiones where the waterfalls are. My mother has been there and says that the earth is red!
