New Year's Eve Morning
There is something otherworldly about this installation. Just by itself there with very little in the way of other Christmas decorations. It looks more like a close encounter of the third kind than a Christmas display. This city has a love/hate relationship with Christmas, which I understand but find a little childish. I used to feel that way decades ago as an immature post-terrestrial. Then I realized, once we stop celebrating Christmas, the world will fall silent.

Metaphorically speaking. The world will go on (depending on the circumstances that bring about an end to Christmas), but it would have lost an important aspect of its spirit.
