Lit on the High Seas
I recently wrote a post entitled Islands in the Stream, which is a reference to a novel of the same name written by Ernest Hemingway. This is not one of his better known literary works, but a movie was made, and Hemingway in general is not everybody's shot of whiskey. His writing was known for being clean and direct without the frills of previous ages. Straightforward. Manly, yet sensitive like raindrops in the afternoon.
I was perusing my shelves when, by coincidence, this book fell out. Imagine my surprise. When I opened it, my eyes fell on the following quote:

They came in toward the line of green keys that showed like black hedges sticking up from the water and then acquired shape and greenness and finally sandy beaches. Thomas Hudson came in with reluctance from the open channel, the promising sea, and the beauty of the morning on deep water, to the business of searching the inner keys...
Just before he came into the part that he thought of as the turning basin where he planned to anchor, he heard Willie shout, "Feesh! Feesh!" Looking astern, he saw a tarpon shaking himself high in the sun and came down in a splash of water.
Beautiful prose!

That is quite accurate. You either like his style / writing or not. I visited Ernest Hemingsway's home in Florida (Key West). Fascinating to say the least.
This is really cool. I would've loved to have seen his writing set up when he was alive. He wrote standing up sometimes, so this is an interesting technique. Thank you for sharing @kriszrokk

Very nice view to read a good book!
Oh yes, on a sunny day it's nice to sit on the deck and relax while reading. Great views.
