It Came from the Sea

The fog creeps thickly through the streets, blowing as if from inner momentum. It's been a week, and the weather effect still lingers. It comes from the ocean, slowly slithering through the streets until it covers the downtown core, and after awhile, it swiftly retreats only to return later and blanket the city in its misty embrace once more.

I noticed the fog looked great illuminated by the city lights. When I looked at them directly, I could see the roiling clouds moving like the sinuous flow of incense.

The fog was concentrated over the water, so I made my way across the bridge where the phenomenon was at its most intense. I felt the cool mist on my face and hands. All surfaces glistened with moisture.

I honestly don’t know what is the best camera setting in this situation, and as I was standing in the middle of a bridge, I didn’t spend much time experimenting with camera functions.

Many of the images that I took did not turn out so well. Particularly those with cars in motion. The light was truly bizarre, diffused through the atmosphere because of the conditions.

I went to a different bridge with more classic stylings but not as pedestrian friendly.

The fog is now gone from the city but lingering menacingly off the coast. I have never experienced such a phenomenon before in the middle of winter, but it has been an unusual La Niña season. The effect in some cases was dreamy.
