Feathery Shores
Winter sees the arrival of migrating species and residents that remain in the relatively balmy seashores along the Pacific. I caught a dashing group of Barrow's Goldeneye that were swimming along the shore in a rather dignified and well-organized formation.

I saw them again later in the evening. They were just floating around at sunset, perhaps enjoying the magnificent late winter hues over the Pacific.

I used a telephoto lens for my Olympus TG6 and caught this regal pair.

The next image has a pensive seagull not causing mayhem for once. It was just chilling looking at the sunset, and I caught it just as it turned its head towards me. Notice the soft sunlight on its breast.

This next little dude was not on the seashore but was hanging out on the lakeshore, where birds have a little scam going looking cute for tourists who give them a lot of seeds to dance around on their hands. This is likely a Spotted Towhee, who are usually skittish as they forage along the trail.

This one spotted food on the ground, so it's less shy about having people around.

I am always impressed by your organization!

They have a nice and tight formation. I wish I was so disciplined. They also dive underwater to hunt and gather food.
How much we have to learn from nature...
Thank you very much, @hive-106444!
