Earth, Water, and Air

These mudflats are revealed in the low tide on the beach around the Burrard inlet of the BC coast. There are multiple warnings along the trail to stay away from them because you can get trapped with a quick rising tide. It is surrounded by blue mountains, which as you can see, make for some breathtaking views with the crisp air and are reminders of the turbulent tectonic history of this place.

While the mudflats look barren at low tide, they're actually rich with plants and animals that provide nutrients for several species. They're a bit smelly if you get too close because of the hydrogen sulfide produced by microbes. Birds can also be seen harvesting the bounty of this land when they pass through here.

It's very mountainous terrain with snowy peaks, and the views are incredible.
