Travel diary - This is Africa: Treasure of the Zanzibar coast

Hello guys,

Today I would like to share with you how something negative can be turned into something amazing. In many places I visited, there was a problem with algae, which spoiled the impression of a wonderful beach, sometimes even blocking access to swimming. In Zanzibar, on the other hand, they grow algae. They grow algae by the shore attached to wooden stakes, women work on the "algae field" every morning at low tide. Afterwards, the children collect the seaweed in a bag and take it to the shore. The algae are dried and sent to China, where they are processed into cosmetics.

It is an amazing process that I was able to witness with my own eyes.
