Amazing celebrations of Dia de los Muertos in Prague

Hey guys!

Last weekend was the special weekend during which the Dia de los Muertos is celebrated and since I´m a huge fan of this iconic Mexican holiday (just as pretty much everything Mexican hehe), I simply had to visit the event even here in Prague, Czech Republic where we are currently based.

The event was organized by the Mexican Embassy in Prague and it was just so much fun! It was a whole day of various workshops, concerts, performances, markets and exhibitions, all of which were made with the Mexican culture, history, art and cuisine as the main themes.

Then, in the evening, the main part of the program was related to the famous holiday itself. There was a contest where the most beautiful Catrina masks and costumes were picked and rewarded in both categories: kids and adults.

Then, the Mariachi group played several well known Mexicans songs such as Cielito Lindo or Mexico Lindo y Querido and after that, the big parade of the Catrinas and other scary costumes started to march from the venue (at the Naprstek Museum) towards to the Old Town Square in the very historic center of Prague.

It was a really amazing day and I´m so happy that I was there 🙂

Please enjoy these pictures that I took at this wonderful event.
