Workers building La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona #Monomad
These days most of my time goes towards planning the return to Egypt, video productions around that and also setting up a new company, so posting stills is less frequent than I wanted...
But here is the second part on La Sagrada familia in Barcelona!
Eager guide dressed as a monk or old style priest
The workshops and more museum style exhibitions like this one were spread all over, making for lots of interesting scenes.
I did not follow any guides myself, preferring to roam on my own, as always :-)
Discussion around some masonry?
It was interesting to see how hands on a lot of it was, these two workers were clearly discussing some practical details around getting this part made. There are thousands, or maybe even more bits and pieces like this that need to be done one by one!
Inspecting masonry?
I really like this scene, with the curved piece sort of making for a focus. I think this was some inspection, discussing plans directly would require a larger format.
Exhibit and/or office?
Yeah, there is someone in there! It must be kinda cool to have something akin to an office space in the middle of all the exhibits :-)
From the entrance
The architecture of Gaudi mixed with the masonry is really something... This part is as made for black & white.
Tourists by the entrance
I guess most get almost overwhelmed by the scale even right after entering, of course the scale of the cathedral has hit you well before getting inside.
Getting tickets
Arches
I like these arches, very tall, kinda hinting at organ pipes perhaps?
Without the 21mm equivalent it would have been hard to show even some of the scale, although the last one of these two is done with a 35mm equivalent.
Stark contrasts
Some of the images simply have too much contrast in them to come out clean and nice, so for this one I pushed it harder than I would have done if it was a commercial job. It works I think, showing some of the scale & contrasts in there.
The front entry
I should perhaps have spent more time getting this piece right, but this one works. The scale is such that there will be dramatic lines anyway, so I let them converge in this way.
Actually I have some old images going back even to 1988, maybe I will weave them into a third post!
That is it for now! #monomad
Hello!
Interesting photographs that show us a different perspective than what we're used to seeing.
Congratulations!
Happy Saturday!
Thanks! Its just great to be able to share & earn here, the micropayment feel better than invoicing big corporations for fiat! That is now my past only ;-)
Impressive black and white photography. Nice shot my friend.
Thanks! It was really something to be in there, I worked like a madman for a couple of hours or so ;-)
Hope to get back, also hope to do workshops up in the mountains of Aragon, which is close!
You've been working long hours, I understand, I hope you can come back soon.
That used to be the case, for others and the whole failing basketcase that Europe is now...
But here I can do, and share almost anything I want!

Scenic views and a perfect contrast between the elements and their surroundings. Greetings!
Thanks! Actually a Leica M-8 with a wide angle is a horrible thing to tame haha, with all the colour shifts and abberations...
But converting to black & white it works fine!
