Next day at sea between Greek islands #Monomad challenge
Officer on the bridge
It must be a great job most days! For the days when its not I bet things are rough, with very little margin for error the way they use anchors to reach all the islands...
Arriving at an island there is work to get done for sure!
The thin line goes first, then the hawser can be hauled ashore.
One of the guys got close to stumbling, worst case the weight of it might have dragged him into the sea, these things are heavy!
As a sailor for decades I totally recognized his reflexes kicking in, doing some rapid steps while juggling his feet to free any ropes, and of course it worked :-)
I just like the lines & texture here
Guess this guy was some foreman, he was just hanging around watching events.
Greek with prayer beads
I actually had an old, commercial vessel looking like the one in the background for 10 years, just a little smaller!
Panorama from a port
The Fujifilm camera I also had along with a 50mm equivalent does panoramas easily, but with the movement at sea it was harder. This one worked, at least!
Church with graveyard
Of course I would have enjoyed spending some days or even longer on these islands! At least I got this single picture that shows some of the old style architecture & mood.
The last stretch to Athens was a bit boring compared, and also there was nothing that could really work as good images.
That's it, next up is Athens itself!
