My creative refuge: leaves in the garden! #Monomad

Oh, its that late already?? Migrating 100% to Linux, and especially going deep into code projects to see if I can get something done is draining for sure...

Now its too late to get any real photography done... I can't just do the garden again, that is too easy... And actually I'm totally exhausted...

B****it, this is what all of my workflow and testing is for! Also there is rain, and then there is that way of using this old macro zoom that I found online that I haven't tested!

And of course its on Hive, so why not!?

Banana leaves

They look almost alien, brutal this way... Dragging them through the workflow on Pinta totally did its thing!

Reminds me of a dog

For some reason this reminds me of some tiny, resentful animal that might jump at me, perhaps its about the bending down, with something sharp looking at the end?

Round shapes

I like this plant, but as always I have no idea what its name is. It comes out in a more pleasing way than the other brutes!

Sharp as a tack?

Its wild that this old piece of glass can render things this sharp... Apparently there is variations across them, so I probably got a good one! Almost for free too 😀

More sharp leaves

The way it renders the background is great for a zoom too!

An ant!

There was an ant there! Or maybe a fly, I think it flew away. Maybe I can graduate to real macro soon!

I let this one stay a bit on the lighter side, don't want that insect to be too depressed in there...

More background

The process cuts heavily into gradiations, but the out of focus lights here still work. I can always come back, do a full raw conversion and edit if the need should arise.

Sharp, narrow lines

I wonder if these lines work on phones, probably now that most screens have some serious resolution...

How far can I pull it?

I wanted to skip this one, it was dull compared to the others. Then I just dragged it through a second time, seriously abusing the curves. It sort of works, but its still not the same. I'll post it as an example of what I'm considering.

All in all suddenly the past hour was not wasted at all, I got my workflow tested under exactly the conditions I'm building it for: when I'm tired, bogged down or whatever, which is when I need to just do things 🙂

That's it for now!

Hello!
This is an interesting piece of work where you show that sometimes less is more!
I loved the use of focus and the gradual symbolism!
Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks! Maybe that is what one might arrive at after 4 decades of doing something: simplicity!

The few images I have from 86 that can still be shown were also simple, I'll post something on that later perhaps
