I almost forgot these wonderful wrecks! #Monomad

Driving back to the house the other day I remembered that I have these right around the corner!

This is an old Triumph!

Now, besides always feeling good close to old car or shipwrecks this is also perfect for testing & getting even more used to the gear, tools & process 🙂

Would it open?

Its been a while since someone has been sitting in it I bet, although local kids proably did that for years before it all collapsed.

No paint lasts in the heat...

If this was an extremely rare car it could have been sort of "restored", but there would not be much original metal left... Also all surfaces are rusted, since the sun breaks down the paint and even underlying coating in the heat.

Lights gone

These were probably sold years ago, not many parts for these around!

*A real tractor!

I always wanted a real tractor, something super simple! When we got the retreat center in the late nineties I wanted to get one, functional ones would sell for as little as ~500 dollars equivalent.

Now most have found permanent owners...

Walking the dog

I did not spend much time there, I know too well how these things can be, probably all the locals have been mad about this for decades...

Linkage

A tractor like this just works forever, all you'd need is probably to change the oil and tyres.

Some spider webs here

The old 35-105 did well also with these thin lines!

Well taken care of!

And here we go, the owner has the same knowledge, as long as the engine does not get filled with rainwater it will probably start!

Who knows, he might do just that every couple of years or so, that is what I would have done.

Oil pressure

The only meter you really need on something like this! Again the 35-105 works well.

Locals coming & going

It fit in well with many of these pictures that the locals were coming and going, it makes for images that tell more of a tale I think.

Now, this is what I could do with the 35-105 and D700 only. I did feel some limitations, I tried reaching for a wider angle, and normally I would also have had 2.8, 2.0 or 1.4 to play around with for shallow depth of field.

But the end result here is super close to what I could have achieved dragging around all the gear I normally do!

I guess I'll have to do just that for the next trial, and then see how that end result is 🙂

That's it for now!

I loved the photos you shared, that's one of my favorite pictures, the one of practically unusable old cars, they look great. Great series. Regards

Thanks! The door handle is almost in the corner, I kinda knew that would be too much, but it worked when that motorbike appeared in the other corner :-)

Its great having this outlet, its probably the best I've had through these 4 decades, at least in terms of audience and freedom to post what I want!
