Mono-enjoying the views from above

Greetings, lovers of Black and White art!

Today I am sharing with you all a few more of my travel photographs from the polar city of Tromso in Northern Norway.

This city was full of life, love, art and some great ideas executed properly, generally I loved how people who sometimes live is harsh conditions have managed to make their life much better and the society there is so strong and united. I can tell stories for hours but let's focus on the pictures for now. I hope you enjoy the views.

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

You are kindly invited and more than welcome to join "The Photographic Society" Community on HIVE here: @hive-142821, where photographers and enthusiasts share not only their works but also discuss concepts and techniques, and also some hot topics and news about our favorite art.

Your city looks very beautiful. I love the gigantic buildings. Also, the snows gave a perfect design

Thanks, a beautiful city indeed, not mine, unfortunately, if you read what I wrote :)

Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything.

Creating black and white photos has always been a challenge to me. You are right, it shows the soul of the subject. There is such a melancholic energy about it that is so beautiful it doesn't need color to make one feel what the photographer wants its audience to feel. Great photos!

Thanks so much!

That's a sentiment of yours, I think ;) For me, B&W just strips away the noise of the colors and some things are better visible that way :)
B&W is more difficult as it seems, as it work good only on some photos, not always :)

Magnificent photos! My favourite is the second one. The sky and the way the buildings are aligned towards the sea & mountain just looks like the mountain is pulling everything towards it. Simply darn right eye catching and fascinating photo!
