Fogs tell stories

What would you tell, looking at those photos?

Mists and fogs really change the whole picture, the feeling and the moods.

I would say that fogs turn one ordinary, or not so ordinary in that particular case, landscape into a true fairy-tale, or using other words, fogs could turn a post-card into a true story.

One story that tells a lot more than thousand words...

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Truth is, it wasn't so cold, but the fog was spreading coldness from inside :)

I always get a feeling of pre-electric England when I see pictures such as this, with the fog settling over the city. I can imagine and visualise streets lit by gaslight and people in fantastic dress. Awesome pictures.

Now that you said it, I pictured it too.
By the way during one travel, I was deeply impressed to see street lights in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, still running on natural gas and being lit by a special guy with a lighter on a long stick...

I do love fog. Soooo atmospheric. I remember so amazing days of fog living on the canals when we had the Narrowboat. Wonderful moments

Another aspect of fogs I love is how they change the acoustics of a place. The sounds travel and change dramatically then :)
