The moon, earth's only natural satellite that makes earth more livable. It goes round the earth at a distance and are tidally locked with the earth. The moon is without doubt the brightest object in the sky. And one fact about the moon is that it does not shine on its own, it reflects light rays received by the sun and then shines at night. It reflects sunlight just like a mirror reflects light.

A faithful witness in the sky

Using my Redmi note 12 to capture this was awesome though with the help of a photographer friend who thought me how to use the camera.

Have you ever wondered why the psalmist described the moon as the faithful witness in the sky?
Poets and song writers have long been in awe and honour the moon as an object of beauty. Its beauty at night is second to none. It gives the earth a beautiful look and allows children to play at night.

That is why we have "Tales by moonlight." A tradition here in Nigeria where adults, particularly elders, tells stories to younger ones. often children, under the light of the moon or around a fire. These stories are typically meant to educate and instruct, often imparting moral lessons and preparing young people for life. I remember those days we normally seat and play with other children while telling stories of tortoise, and other animals. Old good days i will say.

After many research, i have come to learn that May full moon also known as "flower moon" will be bright in the sky on 11/5/2025 and today being 12th May 2025. And this years flower moon is also a "micromoon" meaning it will be at its farthest point from the earth. So you have a chance to experience the beauty, the wonders of Gods creation today.
