Hi all gardening lovers.. This time I will invite you to see me planting several types of vegetables in my small garden.

I started the morning enjoying the cool air and the dew still clinging to the leaves and grass, still damp. The rainy season is fast approaching, and this morning I planned to go to my aunt's house to check out some of her plants.

When I arrived at my aunt's house, I saw her cutting cabbage that had been eaten by caterpillars.

She grows many types of vegetables and some fruits in her yard

This is the cauliflower she planted and is almost ready to harvest.

This is one type of mustard greens planted by my aunt, namely pagoda mustard greens.

And also this is the mustard greens planted by my aunt, she grows two types of mustard greens

She planted all the mustard greens in polybags to save costs and land.

This is the flower of a mustard vegetable that has grown old enough to grow beautiful yellow flowers.

Apart from mustard greens, my aunt also grows other vegetables, namely lettuce.

Eggplant

Stroberry

Chilli

Several types of vegetable seeds such as tomatoes, pumpkins, carrots, and chilies

After seeing my aunt's garden and occasionally asking her how she managed to harvest so many vegetables in her small yard, I asked her what growing medium she used in polybags, how to control pests and diseases, and how to fertilize them properly. I then asked her for some broccoli and cauliflower seedlings ready to be planted in large polybags or pots.

Gardening
After learning from my aunt about how to grow several types of vegetables and fruit, I finally came home with two types of vegetables, namely cauliflower and broccoli, which I will grow at home.

Rice grain
Before arriving home, I first went to a rice processing factory where a lot of rice grains were thrown away, and also a lot of burnt rice husks which I will use as a medium for planting vegetables besides the soil that I use. I took the burnt rice husks and also the intact rice husks, and I took 2 sacks so that later I would save the extra ones to plant other crops, so I wouldn't have to bother going back to this factory to get the rice grains.

After picking up the grain at the rice mill, I also stopped by a shop that sold various types of fruit and vegetable seeds, as well as polybags for planting. I bought several types of vegetable seeds, including tomatoes, cabbage, corn, watermelon, and California papaya.

The materials used for planting include vegetable seeds, polybags, soil, rice grains, and water for irrigation. In addition to polybags, I also use used plastic bread bags.

Former biscuit container

I used scissors to make a hole in the bottom of this old biscuit container so that the water wouldn't collect when I watered the vegetable seeds that I planted.

My cat who accompanies me when planting vegetables, even though I have repeatedly chased him away because he disrupt the materials I used for planting.

I mixed the soil and rice paddy in a 1:1 ratio and put it into these small polybags.

broccoli

After being moved into a larger polybag

Next, sow the seeds that will be planted in this small polybag. For some types of vegetable seeds, it is recommended that the seeds be soaked in water for a while before planting, so that the seeds quickly produce shoots or grow quickly.

After planting the seeds, I moved them to a shady spot protected from the sun. I used a 75% shade net to block out direct sunlight.

I watered it gently to prevent the small polybags from falling over. Besides planting vegetables, a few days ago I also planted bougainvillea stems.

The Question of the week
If you were to invite anyone to your garden, who would it be and why? What would you show them, ask them, talk to them about? You could invite someone from Hive, or Taylor Swift or Donald Trump - let's just say who ever you invite would come to see your garden!
If I have the opportunity to invite a friend who is also my best friend, I would like to invite @derekrichardson to visit my small garden. I want to invite him because he also loves gardening. I can share stories with him about my very simple small garden. I will show some types of plants in my garden, one of which is a California papaya that has already borne fruit that accidentally grew because I threw away the seeds carelessly, but it grew well.!

That's all for my post today. I hope you found it helpful and enjoyable. Thank you everyone!!

All pictures were taken by myself using my mobile phone.
Taken pictures beautifully. I love the flowers.😍
Yes, I like pink flowers!! They are very beautiful.
Your garden looks like it is off to a great start! Hopefully you'll get lots of good produce from it this season. And you are growing one of my absolute favorites.. cauliflower! Mmmm.

I already answered it at the end of my post!

Planting method looks really nice the soil looks so rich and healthy, no wonder the plants look so good. Cabbage is one of my favorite vegetables. I hope you’ll have a bountiful harvest because your aunt is really hardworking in gardening.
Now the rainy season has started, maybe some vegetables will grow very well, but not like watermelon! It will bear fruit, but the fruit is not sweet.
That is a lovely start to a garden! I like how you recycled the old biscuit container, rather than sending it to a landfill. GOOD LUCK with your seedlings! 😊
Yes, thank you very much Sistr!! I hope my plants will grow soon 🤗🤗
