Some More Teleidoscope Light Painting

Greetings, friends of cultivated light painting. After the toxic fumes of the glue had dissipated, I made a few more attempts with the new teleidoscope yesterday. This time I had attached the 8mm fisheye lens to the Nikon D750. The angle of view of this lens is almost 140°. The lens is actually for crop cameras. So on the one hand the image section on the sensor in 35 mm format is round and on the other hand it does not fill the entire sensor area. The lens is larger than the teleidoscope. So I could not put it into the teleidoscope. So in the original pictures, the outer edge of the teleidoscope is usually visible. I cut the pictures into a square format on the computer. Otherwise, all the pictures were taken in a single exposure and were not processed.

Seid gegrüßt, Freunde der gepflegten Lichtmalerei. Nachdem die giftigen Dämpfen des Klebers verflogen waren habe ich gestern einige weitere Versuche mit dem neuen Teleidoskop unternommen. Dieses Mal hatte ich das 8mm Fisheye Objektiv an die Nikon D750 gesteckt. Der Bildwinkel dieser Linse beträgt fast 140°. Das Objektiv ist eigentlich für Crop Kameras. Somit ist der Bildausschnitt am Sensor im Kleinbildformat zum einen rund und andererseits füllt er nicht die gesamte Sensorfläche. Das Objektiv ist größer als das Teleidoskop. Somit konnte ich dieses nicht in das Teleidoskop rein stecken. In den Originalbildern ist also meist die Außenkante des Teleidoskops sichtbar. Ich habe die Bilder am Computer in ein quadratisches Format geschnitten. Ansonsten sind alle Bilder in jeweils einer einzelnen Belichtung entstanden und wurden nicht bearbeitet.

The aperture ring was set to 11 for all shots and I had set the ISO to 50. I controlled the exposure times "by feel", they were between 1 and 3 seconds.

Der Blendenring stand bei allen Aufnahmen auf 11. Den ISO Wert hatte ich auf 50 eingestellt. Die Belichtungszeiten habe ich "nach Gefühl" gesteuert, sie lagen zwischen 1 und 3 Sekunden.

I had positioned various coloured pieces of acrylic and glass in front of the small opening of the teleidoscope and then illuminated them with the Emisar D4V2 and the Wurrkos WK40.

Ich hatte verschiedene bunte Teile aus Acryl und Glas vor der kleinen Öffnung des Teleidoskops positioniert und diese dann mit der Emisar D4V2 und der Wurrkos WK40 beleuchtet.

I like the results with the fisheye better than those with the Nikkor 17-35/2.8. The extremely short focal length makes it easier to control the size and shape of the light subject. I will make further attempts with the 12mm Laowa, the macro lens and perhaps other lenses in the next few days.

Die Ergebnisse mit dem Fisheye gefallen mit besser als die mit dem Nikkor 17-35/2,8. Durch die extrem kurze Brennweite lässt sich die Größe und Form des Lichtobjektes einfacher steuern. Ich werde in den nächsten Tagen noch weitere Versuche mit dem 12mm Laowa, dem Makroobjektiv und vielleicht noch anderen Objektiven unternehmen.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

These are gorgeous, like crystalline entities. A fish eye lens, which I'm not familiar with, but searched online is really cool. I like the way these ones turned out because of that lens. I can't wait to see what you do with a macro lens.
