Images that I have not published until now (part 4) - lightpainting on HIVE

WHAT IS LEFT

Let's continue with the pictures that have been stored on my hard drive for far too long. First I would like to show you some pictures of abandoned places.

I took these four pictures in an abandoned pallast in Poland. It was one of the most impressive places I visited with my camera. It's a pity that something like this stands empty and decays.

I took this panorama in the Görlitz department stores'.

Three pictures from the Beelitz sanatoriums. Somehow they are left over.

Drei Bilder aus den Beelitzer Heilstätten. Irgendwie sind die übrig geblieben.

I took these two pictures a few years ago in the meat factory in Berlin's Josef-Orlopp-Straße. In the meantime, the place has been demolished.

The pictures from the sanatoriums in Hohenlychen are also somewhat older. I don't know what it looks like there. Maybe I should go there again in the near future.

Freisebad in Görlitz. We should go there at night with torches. I hope we get the opportunity quite soon.

A Little Planet from Berlin's Museum Island.

Ein Little Planet von der Berliner Museumsinsel.

I took the light paintings with acrylic blades and the bokeh of different lenses.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Most of these locations have an owner who lives on the premises or are well secured, so not so many vandals get lost there.

I really like seeing abandoned buildings. The older the better. These are fascinating. Shame about the first one, it's gorgeous. Did you get to do any lightpainting in these spots? I quite like the sanatoriums and the meat factory.

The seventh from the bottom is my favourite lightpainting. Looks like some kind of creature a bit, plus the angle. For the one above that, how did you make that one? Also, been meaning to ask if the prisms and tools you use, are any of those glass?

I did lightpaintings in some of the locations. I posted most of the photos here. For a better overview you could visit my Flickr account or the gallery on my website. You find the links at the end of any post.

I thought I recognized several, but I wasn't sure. Looks so different with lightpainting. I've got both links, so I'm going to slow drool my way through them. It's been years since I've encountered an art form that's captured my attention to this degree.

This one is captured with a modified Helios 44/2 lens. What you see is the special bokeh of these lens. The light source is a bunch of black fibre optics. I think, I did a post about. 🤔

Yes, I remember you did a post about this and now I recall. I'm sorry. Sometimes finding it hard to focus these days, no pun intended. This one is like galaxy travel (not that I know what that is like).

My apologies for the weird voting. I'm not remembering to change the amount when I vote a comment, then move to a post, sigh.

🤔 I had similar problems some days ago.

😂 I see I'm not alone, that's reassuring. I wish it wouldn't automatically default to whatever the last vote amount was.
