Seeing tangible proof of the size of the 2004 tsunami waves while touring the floating PLTD ship.

avatar

Exactly 19 years ago, in 2004, the tsunami waves struck. This photograph I took three days ago shows a floating power plant or PLTD ship. During my visit, I saw a PLN-owned PLTD ship being dragged from Ulee Light Harbor to Punge Blang Cut Village in Banda Aceh. Indonesia.

I want to show you every photo I took from various perspectives of the Floating PLTD. This is a general overview of the PLTD Ship's exterior, from a distance as well. where this ship is about 63 meters long, weighs up to 2,600 tons, and has a power plant engine with a maximum power capacity of 10.5 megawatts. Observe together.

The floating PLTD ship you can see has five floors, from the first floor to the fifth floor.

Before we enter the Floating PLTD Ship, I'd like to invite you to look around and observe the environment outside the vessel. Let's take a closer look at what we see from the outside of the ship.

As you can see above and below, this is the PLTD APUNG Tsunami Monument, which is on display in this location. In this monument, we can see the names of the thousands of people who perished during the 2004 tsunami waves. took place here. Innocent children and even their parents who became victims of the tsunami died here, which is clear evidence of the names of the victims of the tsunami that I am unable to mention one by one. They were all victims of the ferocity of the tsunami waves that occurred at the time. The waves of the tsunami carried me away. I can still clearly recall what occurred at that time. I was still 11 years old at the time, though. Despite the fact that it has been a while since the incident, which happened about 19 years ago.

As a matter of fact, I don't want to recall the tsunami incident that occurred 19 years ago because I found it to be somewhat traumatic and suffocating to recall it. however, I'm attempting to forget about it little by little. However, tangible proof of the tsunami waves' awesomeness is still present at this Floating PLTD, allowing us to recall that memory even though I don't want to. I faced this grief, though, with patience and steadfastness, holding fast to my faith. only a sincere prayer that I can pray correctly. I pray for the eternal bliss of the dead in the presence of the all-powerful creator.

Now let's explore this floating PLTD ship's interior. We must climb stairs to reach each of the five floors of this floating PLTD ship, as I previously mentioned. Let's examine these actions.

Here is a close-up photo of the stairs that I took as I ascended them to the top. Every time we want to enter this ship, from the first floor to the fifth floor, we will only find these stairs with the same color paint. This floating PLTD ship also has stairs with almost the same color, painted in yellow.

This is how the first floor of the ship feels. More or less tourists, who resemble me, are boarding this ship, even if it's just to observe the atmosphere there.

This is how the ship appears to be inside; it is still on the first floor. Even though the atmosphere doesn't really change from the first floor to the fifth floor, I haven't actually entered the ship yet; this is still outside. This is the floating PLTD ship, which is powered by a generator engine with a 100.5 megawatt capacity.

With regard to the view of the houses from this ship, it is quite an interesting view. A telescope camera can also help us see it. We can view the natural scenery, which I find to be quite beautiful to the eye, because this ship has a camera telescope that allows us to see it even from a distance. On the boat, I caught a glimpse of it. I'm quite pleased and entertained by this.

Usually, during the month of Ramadan or as Eid al-Fitr approaches, this telescope is used to observe the Hilal or the moon. You can find it here. Using this telescope, we are able to see the hilal from this ship.

From the ship, we have access to this view. We can see and see anything from this ship because of its intriguing atmosphere.

Let's enter the floating PLTD ship right away and see what we can see there. ! while in the ship's room, let's take another look.

The situation in the ship's room is the same as when I was here, even if it was just to look around and take a stroll. It appears to be quite crowded, and there are quite a few humans on this ship. Even though we understand, there is one thing to note: the ship's room's contents haven't actually been left in its original state; rather, they have been repaired and made beautiful once more. The contents of the ship inside of this ship were also destroyed as a result of the tsunami incident, which was so powerful. however, the exterior of the ship is unharmed. Nevertheless, there are a few issues that require attention and development.

There is a television in this room. On television, we can see how the tsunami will develop in 2024. The initial recording is still present on everything. They preserve the memory of the tsunami there. The seconds of the tsunami's development can be seen on television. This is a photo I took while visiting this place a few days ago of the television screen recording. The tsunami is only depicted in this image as an example.

PLTD Floating in 2004, Sunday, December 26, just before the tsunami struck, as seen in the example photo.

Seconds before the tsunami hit, at around 07:30 WIB, there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 9, as depicted in the illustration below. The PLTD Apung ship, which was previously at sea and specifically at the Ulee Lheue ferry port, was dragged by the enormous tsunami waves as if by magic up to a distance of three kilometers. The ship has been found so far in Banda Aceh's Punge Blang Cut Village. as a result of being pulled by the tsunami waves.

Illustration of the picture 10 minutes after the earthquake, the water receded to the sea at a distance of about 1 km from the coastline, and then the tsunami finally wreaked havoc on nearly all of Banda Aceh. including the Floating PLTD Ship he is able to tow. The satellite images from the time of the tsunami live show the size of the Aceh tsunami waves in the photos down below.

Thank you so much to everyone who followed my visit while I was on board PLTD Apung. There are still a lot of things I want to show you, but since I've already written a lot, I'll just show you this picture as concrete evidence that this tsunami site is still being used as a memorial to honor the history that claimed so many lives. We can only hope that this won't happen again in the region where we live or anywhere else the tsunami's effects are still being felt.
I appreciate it.

@spt-shturm it is a tsunami wave, it is not recommended to swim, because it is very dangerous... Thank you very much for your support.
Thank you.
