I had a peaceful weekend while listening to the sounds of nature and finding comfort with food.

Blue sky, dancing leaves on the twigs, sounds of the wind as it blew hard, crackling chickens from time to time; I could say it was a peaceful weekend. Since it's two consecutive holidays in my country due to Chinese New Year I decided to go home. The last time I spent the weekend here in our house was during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

While sitting on the couch, I felt sleepy, though I woke up kinda of late. Yet, who wouldn't think that if you are alone and all you can hear is the sound of nature? Not to mention, I am alone and just finished eating a full meal.

It feels like I have overeaten; maybe it was because I hadn't had a good meal yesterday. How can I when I traveled more than two hours going home, cleaned the house, and almost had a heart attack upon seeing this?

Yes, it's a snake I found sleeping soundly, hiding under the doormat! It was funny as, at first, I thought it was the husband's nephew's toys left while they played on our porch. I was mad about why they left it here. Did they forget I am pregnant? However, it turns out to be REAL.

It makes my knees wobble as I was frightened! I got paranoid and checked all the corners of the house! That makes me feel so tired.

Thankful I had a good sleep last night, so I woke up rejuvenated! I even managed to go to the market and buy fish to be cooked for lunch up to dinner.

So this is what I had eaten a while ago.

Fried fish. While on my way home yesterday, I smelled someone frying! Me? Well, I am on the stage of, don't let me smell or see food, or else I won't have peace of mind; yes, not until I have eaten what I desired.

Also, I kinda missed home after missed home after watching this reel on Facebook.

Remember those days when we were young and every time I had that feeling; I found myself comforted with the food that we used to eat back then.

You might expect it's a particular dish, but nope, it's not! Just fish cooked with tomatoes, spring onions, onions, and enough water for soup. We called this kinamatisang isda in our dialect. However, this was already special back then as we seldom ate fish, and my parents could hardly afford. So imagine the joy in our faces upon seeing this is a viand for a meal?

Of this goes well with rice, and I would be happier if it's unlimited. Lol, my mother used to give us only a cup, not because we were on a diet but to make sure everyone could eat.

Aside from this, I also bought candies which remind me of my childhood.

Hawhaw is a milk bar candy that tastes heaven back then 🤣. Younger generations in my country might no longer be familiar with it, but for us who were born in the 90s, Ah, could surely share some wonderful experiences and comments.

What about langka or jackfruit candy? Wanna have one?

I always feel good every time I eat something that I used to have in the past. Foods that I could hardly afford that I made a promise to myself I can in the future. I don't know if it's only me who likes that. Not only in food but in other things my parents couldn't afford to provide back then. That is something I was deprived of back then. I don't know, but it gives me satisfaction.

And while writing, I was actually eating boiled white corn 😁. hehe, I know I just ate an hour ago, but what can I do? This little baby inside my tummy says he was hungry and wanted some. Yes, it's him who wished to, as I could feel him moving. I guessed he is happily eating, too!

Hello, fellow Hivers! Happy weekend! I hope you had a great time spending time with your loved ones. Mine, there is nothing much, or I didn't have activities this past month as I was just at home. Resting and feeding my little bean, hehe. Have a great day.

Being away from snakes is safe and secure, because snake can't be your friend at all ;)
