First to travel with an infant alone with approximately 355 miles going home in our hometown by land, air and sea.

Last June 07, Caleb and I travelled back home for a vacation. I was already anticipating it wouldn't be easy as he was already learning how to walk and it was just the two of us. Thus, there was no choice as adding a companion means more expenses so this is how the travel goes as my entry in #Wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay.
Our house is two hours away from the airport on normal days, less the traffic. We can travel through public transportation but my in-laws send us for the convenience. We just hired a driver as my sister in-law couldn't drive yet in the busy city.
Six months had passed since the last time I traveled outside our town. Since I chose to be a fulltime Mom, going out was only necessary. Couldn't help but to look at the window at how the surroundings had changed. Sad part was, I can't even recall how it was used aside from congested vehicles.
As it was a normal weekend, the ride was smooth and arrived at the airport as expected. I left Caleb for a while in their care as I needed to self check in and after drop my baggage.

This is more convenient than going through the counter. Here I will be the one to print my bag tag and boarding ( I had a copy in my phone but might not opened it since I am carrying my son.)
After a few minutes I was done and time for my in-laws to leave. What I had was a backpack, a carrier for me to move freely.
At first they insisted on buying me food but I dismissed the idea which later I regret. The NAIA terminal 3 was under renovation and several food establishments were closed. If it was open there would be a long queue and I am already starving, sweaty and tired. Ended up in a small snack kiosk, ordered empanada and a bottle of water.
Then, I proceeded at the departure area and presenting my documents was a struggle. Caleb kept on snatching it until the copy of our birth certificates got crumpled.
Thankfully though he was a little naughty, it was still manageable. I brought some biscuits and toys for him so he wouldn't get bored. My back is aching . My back weighs 5kgs and him 10kgs.

Finally Boarding! We are in the priority lane so I was the second passenger who got on the plane. The steward had that warth smile and even exchanged a few conversations with her as she helped me settle.
When the plane started to depart, Caleb was fussy at first that he wanted to get down. So I let him stand for a while (we are sitting in the aisle). He would play peekaboo to the passengers behind us. Then, as he got tired and maybe due to the cold environment he fell asleep in the entire one hour flight.

He was still sleeping soundly as we landed so I placed him in a carrier. It was fine but we had trouble picking our baggage. Our suitcase was 20kgs and lifting it in one arm makes my stomach ache.
Thank you to the guy who saw my struggles and helped me.
It's hard to travel alone with a kid no? heard a woman beside me comment. Looking at her seemed like we are both in the same situation. A bag at our back contains our baby need, a baby sleeping soundly in a carrier at the front and a cart of our luggages in our hand.
Oh yeah and we just both laughed at it, na never underestimate a mother's stregth.
It was @asiaymalay daughter along with another niece who picked us at the airport and another one hour of travel going to the port.
I lost track of what time we reached the port aside from it was already dark.We still need to ride in a ferry for at least 15 minutes. That is to reach my hometown Guimaras from Iloilo (Where the airport was.)
Before it was only a motorized boat but since the tragic death when one was capsized amidst a storm it was now changed to fiber. Bigger and safer or you can choose to ride in a ship.
Finally, Hello Guimaras.
