Exploring Chiang Kai Shek museum and getting a chance to see the bulletproof car the Philippines donated about 68 years ago!

While on our way to Taipei and before we explored the highest skyscraper in Taiwan we first stop by at Chiang Kai Shek museum. What interesting about it was they had been telling me about the Cadillac and Limousine that out former president donated that was on display.

Before I walk you through as my entry in #Wednesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay and #makemesmile by @elizacheng check it HERE if you want to know a brief history about Chiang Kai-shek.

The museum is already located at Taipei, a little bit near to one of our destination.

IMG_20231007_162702.jpg

Weather is not yet good as you can see the gray sky. I can say that all through wandering only a few times we had a blue sky.
It takes us many times before we find a parking area and the photo above was taken while I was still in the car.

Since there was no nearer, we were left with no choice but to park a little bit far. Though not so, just walk a little and cross the pedestrian.

IMG_20231007_163944.jpg

What amazed me here is how everyone was compliant when it comes to traffic rules! Hope in my country too!

IMG_20231007_164051.jpg

Almost there as we are now about to step inside the entrance. The journey was only about to start yet I couldn't help but to admire the architectural designs.

IMG_20231007_164134.jpg

After passing the shaded canopy, we passed by this path walk with several trees planted on both sides. Since the weather was a bit gloomy, it was kinda cold which I find refreshing to walk in. That's the couple who took us on a tour.

IMG_20231007_171913.jpg

Take a look how these plants were perfectly shape! I commended whoever did the job!

IMG_20231007_164344.jpg

As much as I wanted to challenge myself climbing up the stairs I opted not too. On the left was the entrance going inside the museum and our companions walking through. Common let's go and follow them, remember we aren't familiar with the place. Might we get lost. I told the husband and he just laughed at me

IMG_20231007_164542.jpg

There were a lot displayed, exhibits inside but I went directly to the main attraction..

IMG_20231007_164733.jpg

Yes, this is what I mentioned earlier the Cadillac and Limousine my country donated way back 1955!

image.png

Been 68 years had passed yet it was still well maintained! Yes, it is bulletproof!

This made me think how rich my country was back then that we could afford to donate luxurious cars? What happened?

My hands were itching badly and I wanted to touch the feeling of having a power that would see several clips of the history, lol.

IMG_20231007_164811.jpg

But it was clearly stated, no entering and no touching.

IMG_20231007_164830.jpg

Seriously, I couldn't really get over the fact that I take time checking the cars. I wanted to see how good it was still in its outer appearance.

IMG_20231007_165209.jpg

Yet, down to the tires it was clean and shining!

IMG_20231007_165138.jpg

Though I won't see any but so far this is only what I found. Just scratches near the headlights. Still the thought that it was exhibited here, makes me feel so much joy and feeling proud.

After wandering around, finally we decided to go out. They knew that we still wanted to take some photos so they just told us they would be waiting at the bench. Yet, before that, Ate (the gf of my husband's friend) took this jump shot.

IMG_20231007_171103.jpg

We take some time having some pictures earlier while I am silently wondering why it's only us.

IMG_20231007_170653.jpg

Found out later that it was the entrance but here! Where we had a jump shot! After our hearts were content, we started climbing up the stairs as we wanted to see the view from the top.

IMG_20231007_170957.jpg

Small droplets of rain started to pour so we are in a hurry! Almost running, believe me, I am almost catching my breath!

Good thing was, the view was somehow breathtaking so I could say it was worth every sweat!

IMG_20231007_171501.jpg

I never thought that the landscape was not just trimmed but something was actually written.

IMG_20231007_171634.jpg

Anyone can read?

IMG_20231007_170915.jpg

Oh no! Seems we really need to retreat! With the thought we run again going down!

Hope you enjoy the tour and thanks for dropping by!

Hey, you might forgot, today is HPUD, are you done powering up at least 10 Hive?

Hello dear friend @lhes, good morning
There is nothing but praise for this hike and the places you have visited, everything beautiful, even the automotive exhibitions. It's good to know that in some part of the world people respect traffic rules.
Beautiful photographs, thank you very much for sharing this Wednesday walking experience

"This made me think how rich my country was back then that we could afford to donate luxurious cars? What happened?"

We were very well off during those times. If I'm not mistaken, the peso-dollar exchange rate was 1:2, so one peso is like US$0.50. Started to go downhill after Macapagal in the 60s. Sad lang. But,

"But it was clearly stated, no entering and no touching."

This is the kind of thing that I loved as a kid, I will definitely touch this if it says don't. 😂

Nakita ko rin yang kotse na yan, di ko ma-explain pero I felt so happy when I saw this car and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Di ko na mahanap ang photos ko ng first visit to TW. Nakasama na yata ng old laptop. Still, I'm happy to see that you had fun with your spouse.

Congrats pala sa..........(fill in the blank. haha) 😎

There's still hope. We still have the Philippines' super rich natural resources worth trillions of pesos. Isang example lang dito ang Malampaya, which had already generated 374 billion revenues for the government, but that is just one site.

The rich and those in gov't already know this, which is why the elections are a big deal. We can easily become rich just by doing one thing: reduce corruption. By electing the less corrupt among the candidates we can already increase the spending power for projects and services without the need to add more to the budget. As an example, billions are lost in tax evasion which could have been used to fund more hospitals, schools, or increase the salary of teachers and the police. So, I'm very hopeful na one day we will see the Philippines at par or even surpass Japan and Singapore like it was before. Wala na silang natural resources, tayo may natitira pa. Just need to protect it from "bad" actors in gov't and business.

Effective pala ang TW, good job! haha.
