A Morning in the Province

Hello everyone, have a great day!

What a beautiful way to start my morning.

I’m living the village life now, where everything is quiet- even the neighbors. You can hardly hear them talking. It has been a while since I experienced life in the province. Here, people are already awake at 4 a.m., feeding pigs and cleaning the cages. You can hear their loud voices and laughter, and somehow it brightens your day. It seems like they finish their chores early and move on with their daily routine.

Even my friend had already started teaching online. It didn’t disturb my sleep. I woke up around 7 a.m., thinking it was already 10! My friend laughed at me and asked about my plans. She told me she couldn’t come with me to explore the place. I told her not to worry- I would take a bath and explore on my own. She wad concerned about my safety, but I am a strong and independent woman. I am not afraid to roam around.

As I walked, I greeted the local residents with a “good morning.” They were friendly. The sky was beautiful and bright on this sunny day.

I could feel the fresh air brushing on against my face and blowing through my hair.

Image source: Captured by meWhen you enter Barangay Tayuman, Lobo, Batangas, you will see many coconut trees. Most of the locals use this resource for their livelihood. Coconut shells are made into charcoal, which they sell for income. While talking to Elmer’s mom for two hours, I learned a lot about their community. Most of the neighbors are relatives, creating a close-knit environment.

Their main business is piggery, and they also raise native chickens. The surroundings are filled with banana trees, mango trees, tamarind trees, papaya trees, vegetables, and many other plants. According to her, if you are hardworking and plant your own food, you will never go hungry.

The trees were healthy and green. I saw flowers and animals along the road.

The challenge was the uphill road. I had to stop many times to catch my breath. When I was a child, I could go around here without getting tired. But as we grow older, everything slows down. Still, even if the road is hard, it reminds me to keep moving forward and not stop just because it’s difficult. Be confident. Trust yourself. You can reach the destination you truly desire.

How I miss province life. This is the place where I can breathe. A place where I feel there is nothing wrong with me — no judgment from people’s eyes, because they barely know me. I miss sitting under the trees, listening to the birds and the leaves moving with the wind. Not many people pass through this area, so I have time to think and reflect.

I sat on a big stone, enjoying the mountain view and the movement of the coconut trees.

The fresh air renews my spirit. City life is more challenging. The problems of the world keep piling up — war, the death of innocent people, corruption, leaders abusing their power and not caring about their citizens.

I hope the world will have more peace, love, and compassion. I hope countries choose generosity instead of greed, and that neighbors country practice love toward one another.

I wanted to see the rice terraces, but the locals did not recommend that I go down alone since it’s far to walk. So I just took a picture from afar.

Find the rice terrances There’s no signal in this area, so I decided to write today’s post instead.

When life feels tough, instead of harming yourself — remember that mental health is important. Find a place where you can breathe. Release your stress. Step away from the city or even from your home for a while. Visit a place as beautiful as this. Then go back with renewed confidence in whatever life brings.

I’ll share photos of me later — if Bhattg does first. 😊

Stay tuned for the latest updates.

Thank you!
