the sunflower 🌻 and its legend of a 😍 unrequited 😍 love story - el girasol 🌻 y su leyenda de una historia de amor 😍 no correspondido

Legend has it that a young water nymph Clytie daughter of the god Oceanus and the sea goddess Thetis (Titanide) fell madly in love with the god of light and sun Apollo. Such was her love that every day she followed his path from the time he left his palace in the morning until he arrived at sunset in the west.

Day after day Clytie followed the steps of her beloved with eyes full of love, to such an extent that she began to forget to eat and drink... Despite this adoration she never won the favors of Apollo and the days went by. Little by little Clytie began to take root until she became a beautiful flower, a sunflower. A flower that, even today, does not forget the object of her love and her golden diadem continues to follow the sun.

A beautiful legend that underlines the meaning of loyalty and fidelity of this flower because Clytie's love for Apollo will never end, at least not as long as there are sunflowers on earth.

Cuenta la leyenda que una joven ninfa del agua Clytie hija del dios Océano y de la diosa del mar Tetis (Titanide) se enamoró locamente del dios de la luz y el sol Apolo. Tal era su amor que todos los días seguía su recorrido desde que salía de su palacio por la mañana hasta que llegaba al atardecer por el oeste.

Día tras día Clytie seguía los pasos de su amado con los ojos llenos de amor, hasta tal punto que comenzó a olvidarse de comer y de beber…A pesar de esta adoración nunca gano los favores de Apolo y los días fueron pasando. Poco a poco Clytie comenzó a echar raíces hasta acabar convertida en una bella flor, un girasol. Una flor que, aún hoy, no olvida el objeto de su amor y su diadema dorada continúa siguiendo al sol.

Una leyenda preciosa que remarca el significado de lealtad y fidelidad de esta flor ya que el amor de Clytie hacia Apolo no se acabará nunca, al menos no mientras que haya girasoles sobre la tierra.
