A visit to the skate park [ENG-SPA]

Hello, #Hive friends. Today I want to tell you about my latest journey together with my daughter. A few weeks ago I shared with you a blog about her first attempts to skate on the front porch. But as the distance to the park is a bit complicated, because of the distance, it was until now that we decided to give her that experience, so we decided to go to a park in Cabaiguán, the closest municipality to our home.

Hola, amigos de #Hive. Hoy quiero contarles sobre mi último viaje junto a mi hija. Hace unas semanas les compartí un blog sobre sus primeros intentos de patinar en el portal de casa. Pero como la distancia hasta el parque es un tanto complicada, por la distancia, hasta ahora fue que decidimos darle esa experiencia, por lo que decidimos ir hacia un parque en Cabaiguán, el municipio más cercano a nuestro hogar.

My little skater was excited, that was evident during the whole journey of more than 20 km. Her little face lit up and her enthusiasm was contagious. Although the distance forced us to plan this trip in advance, she was looking forward to it from day one.

Mi pequeña patinadora estaba emocionada, eso era evidente durante todo el trayecto de más de 20 km. Su carita iluminada y su entusiasmo eran contagiosos. Aunque la distancia nos obligó a planificar este viaje con antelación, lo estuvo esperando desde el primer día.

Upon arrival, my little girl was ready to conquer that park. She was quite good on the wheels, turning gracefully and demonstrating a dexterity that surprised us all. Braking, however, was not yet her forte. But for her first time in a place larger than 2 x 5 meters, she was doing quite well.

There weren't many people in the place, so it was easier for her to skate. Not only was she enjoying herself, I was amazed at how well she was skating. She was so confident that she looked like she had been practicing for years, when she had only been skating for 2 months.

Al llegar, mi niña se encontraba lista para conquistar ese parque. Ella se desenvolvía bastante bien sobre las ruedas, girando con gracia y demostrando una destreza que nos sorprendió a todos. Sin embargo, lo de frenar aún no era su fuerte. Pero para ser su primera vez en un lugar superir a 2 x 5 metros, estaba bastante bien.

En el lugar no había muchas personas, por lo que le fue más sencillo patinar. No solo ella disfrutaba, yo estaba asombrada por lo bien que patinaba. Se la veía tanta confianza que aparentaba que llevaba años practicándolo; cuando apenas lleva 2 meses.

Between laughter and a few controlled falls, my daughter continued to explore the park with that courage that only children can have. Although some of those falls were due to the deteriorated conditions of the park, something regrettable.

As the afternoon progressed, my daughter's skills improved, although with some problems still evident when stopping. This was where she could really be herself and ride freely, as there was plenty of room.

Entre risas y alguna que otras caídas controladas, mi hija seguía explorando el parque con esa valentía que solo los niños pueden tener. Aunque algunas de esas caídas eran producto a las deterioradas condiciones con que el parque se encontraba, algo lamentable.

A medida que avanzaba la tarde, mi hija fue mejorando sus habilidades, aunque con algunos problemas aún evidentes al momento de parar. Aquí fue donde realmente pudo ser ella y rodar con libertad, ya que había espacio suficiente.

It was a bit late, but there was no need to wait for the sun to set, exhaustion got the better of her after just over 3 hours. This is one of the few times I have seen her exhausted and asking me to leave.

These moments shared with our children are wonderful and unique, let's not let them pass us by and take advantage of the opportunity. They are growing up and if we wait it could be too late. Besides, as they do, we also learn. Take a chance and enjoy unforgettable moments.

Era un poco tarde, pero no hubo necesidad de esperar a que se pusiera el sol, el cansancio la venció después de poco más de 3 horas. Esta es una de las pocas veces que la he visto agotada y que me pide que nos marchemos.

Estos momentos que se comparten con nuestros hijos son maravillosos y únicos, no los dejemos pasar y aprovechemos la oportunidad. Van creciendo y si esperamos podría ser tarde. Además, al igual que ellos, nosotros también aprendemos. Arriésgate y disfruta de momentos inolvidables.
