Snapshots After Work: Coffee, Calm Streets, and City Waiting

Hello, Everyone! As of this writing, I’m riding on a bus going home. How’s your day so far? I hope all is well on your end as you go over my blog post.

After a long shift, I often find myself looking for small moments that make the day feel lighter. While waiting for my motorcycle taxi rider, I decided to take out my phone and capture whatever caught my eye. Photography has this way of turning ordinary pauses into stories, and that’s exactly what happened with these three shots.

First Photo: Tim Hortons Beside the Workplace
Right outside the entrance of our workplace sits Tim Hortons, the Canadian coffee house that has become a familiar sight for many. Its warm lights and inviting atmosphere always seem to contrast with the busy energy of the office. I couldn’t resist capturing it, almost like a reminder that comfort and caffeine are just a few steps away after a long day.

Second & Third Photos: The Street in Front of the Office
The next two photos show the street in front of the office, where private cars usually pile up in a rush. Surprisingly, a while ago felt different. Only a few vehicles were visible, leaving the road unusually clear. Perhaps many were stuck in the heavy traffic along EDSA or Shaw Boulevard, but for me, it was a rare moment of calm in a place that’s often chaotic. The emptiness gave the scene a quiet charm worth freezing in a frame.

Photography doesn’t always need grand landscapes or dramatic subjects. Sometimes, it’s about noticing the everyday scenes we usually overlook, the coffee shop we pass by, the street we cross daily, the pauses between routines. These three photos reminded me that even while waiting, there’s beauty worth capturing.
