African Internet Outage and Last Week's Photo-shoot

Wow I am surprised that I am even able to write a post. It has been a trying couple of weeks and it only went from worse to horrible last week. Where I am in Ghana the power has been out every day for at least 8-12 hours and often during the peak hours of the day 7am to 11pm. This has made work very difficult and made posting and curating on blurt sometimes a lower priority.

This was further exacerbated last week on Thursday when the internet almost entirely went down in Ghana and many parts of Africa and the middle east. It looks like the undersea cable going through the red sea has been severed or damaged perhaps as a terrorist attack by the Yemen Rebels. I find it a little convenient that they would announce that is is something they could do a few months ago and now it happens. It stinks of a false flag operation if indeed it was intentional and not a natural occurrence. It is also convenient that it only affects Africa and the Middle East Primarily which would just further the Western Agenda and not hurt their interests. Either way I have been dead in the water for work and anything internet related for a few days. But today it looks like a few sites are usable again even though they are telling us it may take up to 5 weeks to fix. It is interesting how social media is mainly working and if this is actually what is prioritized in terms of internet traffic.

Getting back to the post that I planned last week before these issues. On Wedenesday I was recruited again by wifey to be the driver and baby sitter while she does a photo shoot for a friends jewelry brand. We drove about an hour to get to the site of the shoot and spent about another 30 minutes trying to find them in a complex or rock quaries. We finally found her crew and connected with them.

Not long after we got there some boys who have a shack above the quarry started harrasing the crew that they need to leave or pay to be there. They went to fetch the man in the area they knew who showed them the place and a negotiation ensued and in the end the boys would be sorted out something to not intervene. It ended up being about $8, which is kinda bullshit and annoying but life goes on.

I did not take that many photos this time because I was preoccupied with keeping Bjorn out of trouble and entertained. The one organizing the shoot had setup her things ontop an of an outcropping with an uncomplteted building and that place was on of the fw places that hadn't been excavated. It means that there were some steep cliffs and things around so I had to keep a close eye on Bjorn. The shoot involved my wife and a male model. They wore a lot of vintage clothing and things that went with the brass jewelry brand. They did about 4 shoots each and then some together and some closeups of the jewelry.

Bjorn and I walked this way and that, sat on some roots sometimes and then chat with the others when they came up to change and get ready for the next shoot in the series.

Eventaully the long day go the best of the little guy and he found a comfy place at the base of the tree to take a little nap. Sadly the flies disturbed him a bit but he still looked peaceful.
