Aves endémicas de Cuba/Endemic birds of Cuba.

Hola Havers, saluditos mañaneros, como ya le conté en mi presentación les contaba que soy amante de la naturaleza, algo así como para descargar energías negativas tengo que ir a avistar aves😅, quizás si alguien lo ha experimentado, podrá dar fe de ello.
En mi post de hoy quiero recrear sobre algunas de las aves endémicas cubanas. yo les digo los bellos colores de la madre Natura.

Nuestro país es un paraíso de avifauna, no existen peligros de animales feroces que ataquen al hombre, por lo que cautiva a viajeros de países de todos los continentes que cada año recorren miles de kilómetros para un buen chapuzón en las playas, colorarse con el sol (digo colorarse porque algunos se ponen rojo) Además del avistamiento de aves endémicas que podrás conocer solo si visitas Cuba, explorando bosques, montañas y humedales.

Zunzuncito/Bee hummingbird

En Cuba tenemos el ave más pequeña del mundo, el minúsculo Zunzuncito o pájaro mosca, mide 5 centímetros del pico a la cola y no alcanza los dos gramos de peso. Solo habita en cinco de las localidades y lo hace vulnerable por su localización marcada. El macho es más pequeño y colorido que la hembra.
Es muy rápido, alcanza una velocidad de vuelo de hasta 114 kilómetros por hora. Imagínense hacerle una foto tan pequeñito y rápido😊.
Podemos destacar que es un gran polinizador y toma el néctar de las flores en suspensión, utilizando su largo y fino pico.

La chillina/Yellow-headed Warbler
Esta ave es la que más me gusta de todas las bijiritas, se mueve muy rápido, por lo que no es fácil de fotografiar ya que habita en matorrales y enredaderas oscuras por lo general. puede observarse solo en la parte más occidental del país.

El cartacuba/Cuban Tody

Es un ave pequeña, llamado la gema de los bosques, esplendorosa por su impresionante plumaje, muy rápida en su vuelo, pero hace pausas para cazar, que nos permite hacerles lindas fotos y acercarnos bastante, lo más difícil es encontrarlo entre el verdor de los árboles, a través de su canto es mucho más fácil de localizar.
Vive en pequeños orificios en troncos de los árboles muchas veces construidos por él mismo, en los declives de los terrenos o en cavidades naturales existentes en las piedras.
Se encuentran en toda cuba, pero prefieren las áreas boscosas, los barrancos o farallones.
No admiten el cautiverio, podría ocasionarles su muerte.
Una curiosidad de esta ave es que en el occidente tienen los ojos oscuros y en el oriente, los tienen azules.

Tomeguín del pinar/ Cuban Grassquit

Ave pequeña, siempre anda en bandadas, el macho con colores más llamativos que la hembra, siempre lo veras en pastizales y matorrales, muy fácil de fotografiar a pesar de sus movimientos rápidos. Puede observarse en todo el país.

Sijú platanero (Cuban pygmy-owl)

Este es el menor de los búhos y lechuzas de las Antillas mayores, uno de los más chico del mundo, solo mide 18 cm de longitud, eso no le impide ser un hábil cazador. Son difíciles de observar, pero si lo escuchas en el lugar que habita lo puedes ver, son mansos y permiten que te acerques.
Algunas curiosidades de esta ave:
• Puede verse en los platanales buscando alimentos (de ahí el origen de su nombre) pero no come plátanos.
• Gira la cabeza completamente a 180 grados y como presenta dos manchas negras en la nuca, éstas dan la impresión de ser ojos.
• Viven en cavidades de árboles que están abandonadas, a veces hechas por los pájaros carpinteros.

carpintero churroso/Fernandina's Flicker

Es un ave bellísima, a mí me parece que su color imita la madera pulida principalmente la cabeza porque su plumaje brilla. Viven en habitas abiertas, aunque no se encuentra con facilidad porque tienen localización marcada, aunque puedes verlos forrajeando en el suelo.




carpintero verde, Cuban Green Woodpecker

Es un ave atractiva de bosques y manglares, siempre se encuentra en pares a menudo en ramas muertas, muy fácil de fotografiar, aunque es de zona boscosa hemos observado en el Monte Barreto.

El Tocororo/Cuban Trogon

Aquí les presento a nuestra Ave Nacional.
Es un ave trepadora que puede observarse en el nivel medio de los bosques de toda cuba, es muy fácil de fotografiar (aun así, le debo una linda foto) permanece en reposo con el pescuezo encogido y solo abandona esta posición para buscar alimentos (flores y frutas). Si se cautiva no sobrevive.

They are found throughout Cuba, but prefer wooded areas, ravines, or cliffs. They do not tolerate captivity, which could cause their death.
