ASEAN Hive Community Challenge: Hello Yellow! Artist Perspective

Copy of Copy of Your paragraph text (2).gif

Hello, how are you? As an artist, yellow is one of the most important color that every artist have, so when I saw that ASEAN posted about yellow being the main topic for this week's challenge, I was like "do I own a yellow thing?" I was looking around my room for any yellow, and then I saw all the art mediums I have, and then a light bulb over me suddenly turned bright yellow LOL.

I am a very curious person in terms of the arts. If I see something medium that interests me or craft, I will do my best to try it to the point that it consumes my whole room LOL. But the good thing about it is that when I don't have energy to use the other medium, I jump to another one, haha, which is kind of amusing at the same time.

So I am going to share all my art materials and things that are all yellow from an artist's perspective. I hope you like it :D

Yellow...Yellow...Yellow~

The medium that convinced me to try art for the first time. The left one is the very first watercolor paint, and the right one is what I use now. They're hella expensive but worth it!

This gouache I have owned for years now, actually, this gouache was on a tube before, but it turned dry, that is why I transferred it to this mini plastic container, and I rarely use this, but lately I use it for the packaging I made. I used to hate this medium, but I am planning on buying the professional brand in the future.

Next is this hotcake clay keychain I made. Here in the Philippines, our hotcakes are bright yellow, which is appetizing, so vendors sell them before the fiesta, maybe that is why they color them yellow so that people will buy them more. My goal for this is to practice my clay skills, and I think the practice made me more confident.

These are my very first oil pastels, which I inherited from my brother. They're old, but still work, although not as well as the new ones. I plan to upgrade my oil pastels soon.

Because I really love oil pastel lately, I decided to buy the same brand and another one I really like, the Pentel. I guess they changed the formula of the pastels, and the crayon is so good.

Next is my handy-dandy cutter that I really love. I often use this when I am making a sketchbook, good for cutting chipboard and thick watercolor paper highly recommend I like that it is yellow too.

Next are these shades of soft, pastel yellows. I used this for shading my clay keychains, it makes them more realistic looking. I never use it for its intended use, but maybe in the future, it will.

Next is colored pencil, I don't really use this much because it is hard and not cooperating when I use it LOL, but I saw a hack that you need to soak the tip in the water to make it softer like Prismacolor, and I tried it and it works! But it is so inconvenient to do it every time, hahaha.

Next is an acrylic marker that I bought on sale for about 4 cents. I thought this marker would never work, but to my surprise, it works. I really like it. I made a lot of art using it.

17.JPG

This glittered hexagon shape, which I used for my project, and I used just a few of I. I still have this to this day, I think I bought it when I was in high school LOL.

I used to love acrylic before, but since the paint dries so fast to dry, it stops me from using it. But thanks to my fellow artist who suggested using a container with wet parchment, and boom, the paint never dried. I tried it from my previous craft, and it worked like magic.

23.JPG

Next is this squeegee that I saw cluttering on my thing, so I am going to share it with you because it is yellow LOL.

24.JPG

25.JPG

This one is a gift from ate @straykat, a crochet coaster, the one I really love to use for my cold drinks and everything, it is so useful, no more wet stain on my table. Some parts are damaged and stained because our puppy played with it, and thankfully, I saved it before she completely destroyed it LOL.

Of course, special mention sunflower painting I did, I remembered I was practicing the medium I use to convert the acrylic into fabric paint, and I tested it on the canvas clothes before using it on the tote bag I bought.

Thank you for visiting. See you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
I hope you are okay today :))

It's really nice looking all the different mediums and shades of yellow. I wonder if you have tried using only those shades of yellow in one artwork?😆
