Travel Photo Extras
Not all of my photos make it to a travel post. Some locations just don't have enough photogenic spots to warrant taking a picture or enough interesting things to talk about. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to take photos (rare) or maybe the weather was bad that day and the pictures turned out only sub par. In such cases I often end up taking just a couple of pictures that just sit in my phone what seems like forever. This post will showcase those photos that I've collected but never posted. Here we go.
The photos above and below were taken in Orleans France. The first is of the city sign which was pretty cool and interactive and the second is of a statue of Joan of Arc. We didn't really care for the city too much so these were the only photos that I took that day.
The next few were taken in Reims on a second, or maybe third visit.
I had already written about the city and these were only a couple of new spots that I hadn't seen before.
Not enough to warrant another post.
This statue was really large and impressive but the picture didnt do it justice.
The next location was Charlevilles Mézières.
We biked to the city from Sedan along a biking path.
Both cities were pretty cool actually but the weather was crap so the pictures didn't turn out great.
I was also tired from biking so I was too lazy to hunt for spots, or even take my phone out for that matter. It's much harder when you have a bike with you as well.
Next photo is from Leiden Netherlands. We loved the city and have written about it multiple times. I took this photo because of the Hudson's Bay building and sign. Hudson's Bay is an old Canadian company that started way back in the fur trade era. I was very curious about the history of the building in Leiden but never ended up researching it.
A tree in the Netherlands that I thought looked interesting 😂
Next photo was taken in Sélestat France where we stayed while touring the Alsace region of France. Photos online made it look like a nice city but it ended up being a bust. This was the only nice photo that I took. On the plus side, the hotel was cheaper than other areas and still very close to the main towns that we toured during the day. It ended up just being a spot to eat and sleep. Dinner was shit that night though.
Next one below was Brussels Belgium.
Next are a few statues in walls, just minor details I saw and thought we neat.
They just never made it to a post I guess.
The one below was taken on my "Guy's weekend" in Spain.
Next are a few winding curved and narrow streets in a small town in the Bordeaux region.
Same street different lens.
This next one was from Marseilles I think. I don't have much to say about these ones as you probably gathered by now.
Also taken in Marseilles. At the time I believe I liked the strange alien looking plant.
These next two were also from the same town around Bordeaux.
I forget the name of it though.
This next one was in the city of Bordeaux. I liked the architecture and the balconies but the weather made for just an okay photo.
This castle was seen in the city of Munich. We parked our car around there but didn't really tour the castle or the area that day. I didn't take many photos either, just the one, which is very unlike me.
I have no idea where these next ones were taken. They are all from the same place but I can't remember the town for the life of me.
I think they might be from a small town in the Brittany region of France. But they could be somewhere on the way to Bordeaux too.
The yellow stone really stood out for me as something interesting.
Oh these are beautiful photos and really interesting structures.
Thanks. Glad you liked them 😁

Thank you 😊
Our pleasure 🙂
Even though the weather was crazy, the pictures still look very beautiful
That's a good one
You've indeed been to beautiful places
Yeah the locations were nice despite the weather. The photos would have been a lot nice with a blue sky though haha
I love the one with your wife, it's eye-catching and unusual. Your cover photo is also great.
That Leiden tree was something else though.😆 Good spot there. I've been missing Leiden a lot lately, so it was great to get a glimpse of the place.
I know what you mean about not being bothered to capture photos after a long day, bad weather or nothing that brings a spark:)
Yeah the Orleans sign was pretty cool. Would be neat to have like 5 people, 1 in each of the different slots and then take the photo. I think that was the point of it being built that way.
Yeah, no that you mention it, I think that would be pretty cool:)
Taking photos on a guy's weekend, outrageous!!! 😀😀
😆
It's true
What a great opportunity to live and travel in Europe. Quite a great collection of extras. That architecture is awesome!
It was a pretty incredible experience. I loved the architecture there. It was so different than what I'm used to in Canada
