A Moldy Pond in the Pyrenees
A last look at the "Second Lake of Juclar," and then on to the the next destination in the Pyrenees mountains.
This one is about another mountain lake, smaller than the last two, but with a name greater than both.
It's name is Étang de Moulsude, which unless I'm mistaken translates from Catalan to "Pond of Mold," or in other words, Moldy Pond...
What!?! The Moldy Pond! Get the fuck out of here. Whoever came up with that is a genius in my opinion.
So anyway, after leaving the last series of lakes we walked up a fairly large mountain.
Somewhere along the way we crossed the country border into France. We didn't see any signs or markers though, or any sort of indication of country borders.
From there we came to the lake that happened to be anything but Moldy.
It was a little chilly that day but we had great weather overall, with sunshine, blue skies and fluffy white clouds which always make for decent photos.
We stopped at the top of the mountain to view the landscape,
and to take out the drone.
Weeeeeeeeeeeee....
And up it goes.
Here's a shot taken from the drone.
This is another great example of why you should wear bright colors when hiking. If it weren't for my friends neon colored shirt you probably wouldn't even see us in the photo.
I took a few shots from where we were standing while he took a video.
The different lenses on my phone really change the look of the photos as you can see.
Looks like he's finished shooting his video.
I always tried to capture the moment when he snatched the drone out of the air.
From there we headed down and around the pond,
stopping to take a selfie every now and again.
It's like a "Wheres Waldo" book trying to spot me in the pictures. "Try and find Leaky in the photo above."
After switching places we eventually moved around the entire Moldy Pond.
Not a single spot of mold was to be seen.
Though the pink flowers dotting the landscape kind of look like it I suppose.
From there we said goodbye to the pond with the amazing name and continued on down the mountain toward the train station in L'Hospitalet.
Some of the photos look a lot like our Pirin mountain! Same lakes and big stone cliffs.
Beautiful!
The Pirin mountain sounds really nice. I would love to live anywhere close to any mountain range. That would be my dream.
Oh wow! The place is breath taking.
The name of the pond is Moldy Pond????
That's what it translates to from Catlan - one of the languages spoken in Andorra.
Beautiful shots!

Such a Breathtaking Place that is... Awesome Shot's btw.
This Place reminded me off north side of country... Valleys, pond and such view is also there.
Glad you liked it.
That place also sounds like a nice spot.
Yes, the neon or bright colors should be wear once on hiking. Remember that as I was supposed to buy a black dryfit t-shirt 🤣. Didn't know about that thing as I am not a hiker, lol.
The place was beautiful! Indeed a worth to visit. I was wondering if you're a friend or you are taking videos for a vlog?
Yeah bright colors are good to help you stand out in photos on hikes. Otherwise you blend into the background like I did lol. My friend took the videos but I might splice them together and post a video at some point. It would be short, like 60 seconds or something.
Wow beautiful photography of the earth
Glad you liked it 😁
Amazing drone view and I am really amazed by the mix of mountains, lake and clouds. That's really a great place to bring peace in the mind, I think.
Yeah the hike had a good mix of scenery and landscape destinations - lakes, peaks, passes...etc

nice pics, but temperatures now in Italy and France are chilly, not good for health
Yeah it's that time of year. It's getting colder. I'm in Canada now so it's fairly cold here as well.

Yeah, especially the 19th image.
Havefun scrollingdown (•‿•)
Haha yeah so many images to count
😽😜
What an enchanted place, looks like something out of Lord of the Rings, you could have found the entrance to the mines of Moria :). Good Sunday and congratulations for the wonderful place you shared.
That's funny because I actually had that thought several times that day. In my head I kept saying "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard."
I literally called out to my friend when he was like 30 feet in front of me "hey, what do your elf eyes see?"
Him: 🤔 "huh? I don't know what that means."
Me: 🙂 "Lord of the Rings?"
Him: 😅 "Oh. Ha. I never watched it."
Me: blinks. 🤯 "What!?!?! I don't know think we can be friends anymore."
Hahaha you're a great friend, I'm crying laughing 😂😂😂. I wish I'd been there with you guys, that would have been a great scene to see 🧙♂️😄.
Your friend can't travel through such enchanted places without identifying in the world of the Lord of the Rings, you have to help him fix it, he needs to see them.
Yeah everyone needs to watch LOTR at least once.
I agree... But I confess that I still have to convince my partner to watch it at least once, but she doesn't want to, she doesn't like the fantasy 😥... but one day I'll succeed 😉.
The pictures are just so amazing! Loved the depth and clarity of the pictures. Also hope to visit this place one day! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks I'm glad you liked them. Andorra is a beautiful country. Definitely worth checking out.

What a amazing place. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome 😊
Such beautiful views. I live close to the Pyrenees and this trail reminds me a little bit to "Ibon de Estanes" in Huesca. So beautiful
You're lucky to be close, it's a beautiful country. I'd love to live near mountains.
Que increíbles fotos 🤩🤩🤩, ame las hermosas vistas, están fenomenales
Thanks 😁
You are killing it here with those photos! You have made this entire piece(s) fun and so pleasurable. I love these shots!
I'm glad you liked them. It was fun taking them. Easy to find beautiful things to photograph in such a place.
I know!! You just cannot help yourself. I was just thinking of you yesterday. I haven't caught up with jobs and life yet but hoping all is going well and getting back to normal. (whatever normal is)
Good morning!
Haha yeah I'll do another life update post at some point soon and inform everyone haha
Thank you! You know what we like. Now, don't you post it while I am away? I leave in a few days and I will be back in mid-February.
Haha okay I'll try not to. That's a long time away. Are you going on vacation?
Yes! Nobody told you I was independently wealthy?
No, but I figured as much 😆😂

Waldo at the Moldy Pond. 😌
I can't believe I am reading right, your friend never watched LOTR. I don't know if I am more mad at him for not knowing the reference "They're taking the Hobbit to Isenguard" (I hope that you pouted while saying it), or more mad at you for vouching for Ring of Power, that's a real deal breaker for me, Waldo or not.
I know. I was pretty surprised to learn that. He is a few years younger than me... but not that much younger lol
Hahaha 😂 😆
