Sunset in Czarna Góra – Between Light and Clouds
Sunset in Czarna Góra – Between Light and Clouds
Last Sunday I witnessed one of those sunsets that doesn’t burst with color, but rather speaks softly. The weather was quite cloudy – heavy, gray clouds seemed to cover the entire sky, as if they wanted to hide the Tatra Mountains and Babia Góra behind their veil. And yet, as the golden hour approached, light began to break through the gaps in the clouds, as if it didn’t want to give up its final word.
The viewpoint in Czarna Góra was calm and quiet. The wind carried the scent of autumn (or winter, if you could already feel the chill), and the silhouettes of the mountains stood still and majestic, emerging from the mist and twilight from time to time. The Tatras looked as though they were painted with watercolor – soft, blurred, distant. Meanwhile, Babia Góra lingered on the horizon like an old guardian, watching the shifting light from afar.
The most beautiful moment was the brief, fleeting glow: warm, honey-colored rays slipping under the cloud layer, illuminating both the sky and the mountain slopes in soft shades of orange and pink. Such a moment may last only a few minutes – yet it stays in the memory for a very long time.
Sometimes the best sunsets are not the most dramatic ones. Sometimes the quietest ones tell the greatest stories.
