The first rays of sunlight gently break over the horizon, illuminating the calm waters of the ocean and the rugged volcanic coastline. This is how a new day begins in Caleta de Fuste, a charming town on the eastern coast of Fuerteventura.

These photos were taken in early September 2025, when the mornings were still warm and the air carried the scent of the Atlantic. The location features natural pools formed by volcanic rock — during low tide, the ocean leaves behind still surfaces of water, perfect for capturing reflections and the soft gradients of dawn colors.

📸 The moment and the light:
I shot these images just after sunrise, when the sun was slowly rising above the Atlantic horizon. At this hour, the light paints the sky and water in beautiful shades of gold, orange, and pink, contrasting with the dark, rugged lava rocks.

Each sunrise here is a reminder that Fuerteventura is not only about beaches and wind — it’s also about raw, almost lunar landscapes and moments of stillness that let you truly feel the island’s spirit. 🌞
