An extraordinary experience during a business trip to the Kuyavia region

I will remember April 16, 2025 for a long time. During a business trip near Lake Wądzyn in the Kuyavia region, I happened to witness one of the most spectacular aurora displays I have ever seen in Poland. The sky lit up with intense shades of pink and violet, reflecting beautifully on the lake’s surface and creating an almost surreal, cinematic atmosphere.

The conditions were perfect – a cloudless sky, complete silence over the water, and almost no light pollution. I took the opportunity to capture several long-exposure shots, and in one of them I managed to record star trails. It’s quite rare to have the aurora and star trails appear together in a single frame, which makes this particular photo very special to me.

Experiencing such a phenomenon in Poland—by accident, during a work trip—is truly extraordinary. Nature really knows how to surprise you when you least expect it.
