Thorny cactus

Hello, today my picture is of a cactus plant I have in my backyard. It has long thorns, which make it hard to handle when I need to enrich the soil. It has stung me a couple of times. I'm working on saving it as during a rainy day it was all drenched in water and almost dies. It is much better now.
