In Which We Finally Do a Wedding Again

It's been nearly three years since I photographed a wedding. Partly it was the awkward move back to Utah from Florida, then of course the pandemic happened, and then it was just a matter of wanting to do other things with my photography.

But when one of my good friends recommended me to her brother for his wedding, I admit I jumped at the chance.

Weddings have always made me happy, and I love photographing them, even if I don't get as many opportunities anymore to do so.

This one had the distinction of being my very first wedding photographed at the beautiful Provo City Center Temple! I've shot weddings at multiple temples in Utah, of course, but the Provo City Center had just barely opened up by the time we were heading out to Florida, so that was one I had not yet had the honor of doing for a bride and groom.

Unlike most temples, where the happy couple exits from the main doors of the building itself, the Provo City Center temple actually has them exit out the doors of the little visitor center first.

This is where all the meet-and-greets happen, the kisses and hugs from the people who were there at the ceremony and are excited to welcome the bride and groom to their new married life.

After that, we took the bridal party around to one side of the temple itself, and that's where we started the formal photos.

The Provo City Center Temple really does make for a beautiful backdrop for a bride and groom.

And look how happy they are!
