In Which We Enjoy the Textures and Shapes of a Canyon
For President's Day Weekend, we decided to head down into Southern Utah again and visit three more parks. This time around, it was Canyonlands and Arches, two national parks, as well as Goblin Valley State Park.
It occurred to me that I have actually been to every single one of Utah's national parks at least once.
Canyonlands was our first stop, a park I had not actually been to for years, and even then it was only very briefly in order to see one particular feature. The rest of it was entirely unknown to me.
Winter is still creating magical shapes with the red rock! Fresh layers of pristine white accentuated the deep red rock shapes and dusted every plateau. We hiked around in several different areas, and we started looking at the natural shapes that created this landscape.
Every crack and crevice takes on a different tone with the snow. It's amazing to witness. And with all the incredible snow we have gotten this winter, it was definitely heard to resist.
