I See Hope in Black and White

Greetings to all my fellow black and white photography enthusiasts. With these images, which I captured this week of these naturally beautiful flowering plants, I'm participating in the #monomad challenge. I wanted to express my feelings regarding the events that have taken place in our country, as these photos inspired me.

Veo La Esperanza En Lo Blanco y Lo Negro

Un grato saludo, amigos amantes de las fotografías en blanco y negro. Con estas imágenes, que capturé esta semana de estas plantas con flores que por naturaleza son hermosas; hago mi participación en el reto #monomad. He querido plasmar mis sentimientos con relación a los hechos ocurridos en nuestro país, ya que estas fotos me inspiraron.

At this moment, those black and white images conveyed a sense of sadness and mixed feelings despite their beauty; at this moment for me they are now a symbol of contradiction, where for an instant I saw the beauty of nature and, on the other hand, I experienced uncertainty, pain and sadness, where nature itself roared, shattering our entire being, taking human lives and burying the bodies of friends and acquaintances among rebar and rubble.

En este momento, esas imágenes en blanco y negro me transmitieron una sensación de tristeza y sentimientos encontrados a pesar de su belleza; en este instante para mí ahora son un símbolo de contradicción, donde por un instante vi la hermosura de la naturaleza y, por otro lado, experimenté la incertidumbre, el dolor y la tristeza, donde la misma naturaleza rugió resquebrajando todo nuestro ser, llevándose vidas humanas y sepultando entre cabillas y escombros los cuerpos de amigos y conocidos.

But at the same time, despite the pain, the longing, and the hope of the black and white, I want that light that sustains us, that gives us the strength to find them, and that their lives not be extinguished, to not be extinguished.

Pero a la vez quiero, que, a pesar del dolor, el anhelo y la esperanza de lo blanco y negro. Deseo que no se apague esa luz, que nos anima, que nos dé la fuerza para encontrarlos y que sus vidas no se extingan.

I believe in our resilience as human beings, in our capacity to overcome adversity, to transform the negative into something bright and useful. I know that the light will return, that a new dawn awaits us, and that life will be reborn. Just as flowers wither, they too have their own cycle of rebirth, reminding us that life is also a cycle of development and evolution.

Creo en la resiliencia de nosotros como seres humanos, en esa capacidad de salir airoso ante la adversidad, de transformar lo negativo en algo luminoso y útil. Sé que volverá a salir la luz, que un nuevo amanecer nos espera y nuevamente renacerá la vida. Así como las flores se marchitan, también tienen su propio ciclo para volver a nacer, recordándonos que la vida también es un ciclo de desarrollo y evolución.
