It was a rewarding experience taking a stroll through this place; I'd wanted to visit this part of the city for a long time. It's an iconic spot because it holds so many stories, both joyful and sad. This parish is called La Pastora, a place that still retains its colonial character.

Una experiencia gratificante cuando me di un paseo por este lugar; hace mucho tiempo quería conocer esta parte de la ciudad, un sitio emblemático porque encierra muchas historias alegres y tristes. Esta parroquia se llama La Pastora, un lugar que aún, conserva su rasgo colonial.

Its picturesque row of houses lines the sidewalks of the narrow streets, making us feel as if time has stood still in this place. Each house is distinguished by its warm colors, but the special feature is that they all have those large windows and gates that adorn their fronts and are repeated on the different facades of the houses.

Sus pintorescas casas en fila bordean las aceras de las estrechas calles, y nos hacen pensar que el tiempo se detuvo en este espacio. Cada casa se distingue por sus colores cálidos, pero la característica especial es que todas tienen esos grandes ventanales y portones, que adornan sus frentes y que se repiten en las diferentes fachadas de las casas.

The entire area is renowned as a parish of note; it lies practically at the foot of Ávila, the mountain that borders all of Caracas and is known as Waraira Repano. It preserves its traditions and culture; recently, its plaza, streets, and houses have been restored; its walls have been reclaimed and transformed into vibrant murals. The parish has become a tourist attraction, recovering its colonial character. This parish pays homage to Saint José Gregorio Hernández, who lived in this area; he practiced medicine and had a clinic to serve the local population, especially the poorest.

Todo el sector es reconocido por ser una parroquia de referencia; se encuentra prácticamente a los pies del Ávila, la montaña que bordea toda Caracas y que tiene como nombre Waraira Repano. Conserva sus tradiciones y cultura; actualmente se le hicieron trabajos de recuperación a su plaza, calles y casas; sus paredes fueron rescatadas y se transformaron en murales muy coloridos. La parroquia se convirtió en un atractivo turístico, recuperando su parte colonial. En esta parroquia se le rinde homenaje al santo José Gregorio Hernández, quien convivió en este espacio; él ejercía la medicina y tenía un consultorio para atender a su población, especialmente a los más pobres.

This parish has a very pleasant atmosphere, surrounded by greenery; it enjoys a warm climate during the day and cool nights. Its people are friendly, attentive, and very religious. For many, the town square is a popular gathering place, where seniors, young people, and workers meet during their breaks and recreation time. Others share stories from bygone eras. When I arrived, I felt a very pleasant atmosphere and sensed the warmth that pervades the community.

Esta parroquia tiene un ambiente muy agradable, por estar rodeada de vegetación; tiene un clima cálido en el día y frío en la noche. Su gente es amable, atenta y muy religiosa. Para muchos, el sitio de tertulia es en la plaza donde se reúnen los adultos mayores, jóvenes y trabajadores en las horas de descanso y recreación. Otros cuentan historias de la época. Cuando llegué, sentí un clima muy agradable, y percibí el calor humano que reina en la comunidad.

Another distinctive feature is the contrast between the buildings, houses, and adjacent neighborhoods, where the entire population lives together in the same space, shaping the daily life of the communities.
