A Trip Down Memory Lane

Greetings, friends, I start a new day with a TBT, unforgettable. When I married my future husband, I met him at a beach house. It was a holiday weekend, I was invited by a mutual friend and he was working with her. When the short vacation was over, we each went back to our usual lives. Until we did not see each other again the following weekend to finish the carnival octavita. From then on the flame was lit, we saw each other every day for a little while, every time we left our respective jobs. During that time he wrote me many love letters.

Un Viaje Al Recuerdo

Un saludo, amigos, inicio un nuevo día con un TBT, inolvidable. Cuando yo me casé con mi futuro esposo, lo conocí en una casa en la playa. Era un fin de semana festivo, yo estaba invitada por una amiga en común y él trabajaba con ella. Cuando terminamos las cortas vacaciones, cada quien retomó su vida habitual. Hasta que no volvimos a ver el siguiente fin de semana para terminar la octavita de carnaval. Desde ahí se prendió la llama, todos los días no veíamos por ratico, cada vez que salíamos de nuestros respectivos trabajos. Durante ese tiempo me escribió muchas cartas de amor.

Until we got married, civil and then church, our honeymoon was spent on the enchanting island of Cuba. Since I had traveled to Cuba before, I loved its scenery and especially the sunsets on the Malecon. It was so romantic that I said it was good to enjoy that sunset with a sweetheart.

Hasta que nos casamos, civil y luego la iglesia, nuestra luna de miel la pasamos en la encantadora Isla de Cuba. Como yo había viajado anteriormente a Cuba, me gustó mucho su paisaje y sobre todo las puestas de sol en el malecón. Era tan romántico que yo decía que era bueno disfrutar esa puesta de sol con un enamorado.

And when we planned our wedding, we decided to go to the Caribbean island, to enjoy our honeymoon. Of course, they were wonderful and loving days. We visited historical sites, the famous Bodeguita del Medio and the Floridita, where Ernest Hemingway, American writer and journalist, drank his famou daiquiri.

Y cuando planeamos nuestra boda, decidimos irnos a la isla caribeña, para disfrutar nuestra luna de miel. Por supuesto, fueron días maravillosos y amorosos. Conocimos sitios históricos, la famosa Bodeguita del Medio y la Floridita, donde Ernest Hemingway, escritor y periodista estadunidense, tomaba su famoso daiquiri.

We enjoyed a spectacular show. The Cabaret Tropicana show, at midnight, was a reservation we had included in the trip.

Disfrutamos de un show espectacular. La presentación del Cabaret Tropicana, a la media noche, era una reservación que teníamos incluida en el viaje.

We visited its famous Varadero beach, with its crystal-clear but icy water. Its historic cobblestone streets lead us to colonial buildings and structures of Spanish influence, which remain frozen in time, whispering to our ears their great stories.

Conocimos su famosa playa Varadero, con su agua cristalina, pero helada. Sus históricas calles empedradas nos guían a edificios y estructuras coloniales de influencia española, que permanecen detenidas en el tiempo, susurrando a nuestros oídos sus grandes historias.

Our love story has lasted for 33 years, we stay together and we are really happy. Happiness makes one, we never had, nor do we have an argument. Some photos of the marriage were published in the Family and Friends community of the Hive page, there I tell some of the story.

Nuestra historia de amor ha perdurado durante 33 años, nos mantenemos unidos y de verdad somos felices. La felicidad la hace uno, nunca tuvimos, ni tenemos una discusión.
