Venezuela's future (ENG-ESP)-Monomad challenge

Living in a dictatorship is a strange thing, and even more so in one like Venezuela's, where there are people who, despite being against it, also oppose protesting.

And I understand... it's not that people don't go out to protest. If you don't know about Venezuela, you can Google the protests of 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2024.

The result has been the same: repression, death, political prisoners, etc. The usual, really.

We live in a society afraid to say what it thinks.

And perhaps that fear has mutated.

What do I mean?

I mean that, beyond the fear of reprisal, resilience has also emerged in the narrative. Therefore, any sign of discontent is viewed with weariness.

"Here comes the bitter one"...

Vivir en dictadura es algo extraño, y más en una como la venezolana, donde hay gente que, a pesar de estar en contra de ella, también se opone a la protesta.

Y entiendo... no es que la gente no salga a protestar. Si no sabes de Venezuela, puedes buscar en Google las protestas de 2014, 2017, 2019 y 2024.

El resultado ha sido el mismo: represión, muerte, presos políticos, etc. Lo usual, en realidad.

Vivimos en una sociedad con miedo a decir lo que piensa.

Y tal vez ese miedo ha mutado.

¿A qué me refiero?

A que, más allá del temor a la represalia, también ha surgido la resiliencia en la narrativa. Por lo tanto, cualquier indicio de descontento es mirado desde el hartazgo.

“Ya viene el amargado”...

I've read and heard that.

It's been said to me too.

I understand that not everything in life is a constant complaint, but neither is it a party, especially in a country with as many problems as Venezuela.

Every time I go out into the street and see the decay in many areas of the city, I wonder if things will really continue like this for many years.

Eso lo he leído y escuchado.

También me lo han dicho.

Yo entiendo que no todo en la vida es una queja constante, pero tampoco una fiesta, y menos en un país con tantos problemas como Venezuela.

Cada vez que salgo a la calle y veo la decadencia en muchas zonas de la ciudad, me pregunto si realmente así continuará por muchos años.

Will we never know order, conscious progress, freedom, cooperation, and transparency as policy?

The truth is, even saying it, it seems unlikely to happen.

But I don't tire of visualizing it and doing what is in my power to denounce it, regardless of the reprisals, even from those who seemingly also want change.

¿No conoceremos el orden, el progreso consciente, la libertad, la cooperación y la transparencia como política?

Es que, incluso diciéndolo, me parece poco probable que vaya a suceder.

Pero no me canso de visualizarlo y hacer lo que está en mis manos para denunciar, sin importar las represalias, incluso las de aquellos que al parecer también quieren un cambio.
